Q. A word we used a lot in the coverage to describe you was "stoic." Did it feel the same on the inside?
JOSELE BALLESTER: A little bit, I guess. It was nice to start draining a couple long putts at the beginning, especially on the two holes I felt were playing pretty tough with the wind, and then I had it going from there.
The putter was hot at first and I kind of kept it that way and just taking advantage of my strengths. I've been hitting my driver really good lately, and with this wind, I think it's a good advantage to keep it low and keep it in position, which I think I did great both days.
It was kind of a bummer to make that dumb bogey on 18 from like 20 yards from the green. I've got to say that the angle was pretty bad with how firm the greens were and the angle that I had. Yeah, I didn't do it very great, but I don't know, when you are 20 yards away from the pin you don't want to make a bogey.
Happy with how I managed the last two holes. I hit a putt on the last that just came up short. Hopefully we'll get it going again tomorrow.
Q. You started with us in Virginia. You didn't get the start you wanted to the season. Then you switched things around at JCB and here you're in contention. What's been the main difference?
JOSELE BALLESTER: I've got to say honestly that it turned a little bit more in Valderrama. I had a nice final round of 4-under that put me in the positions where I think I belong. I've been putting a lot of work lately, and I knew that maybe like all the work that I put in was not going to show this soon, but very happy with the daily basis work that I'm putting in, and hopefully tomorrow I can bring home the dub. We'll be looking forward to it.
Q. It seems likely you'll be teeing it up with Jon Rahm tomorrow for your very first professional win. What's your approach going to be mentally going into the final round?
JOSELE BALLESTER: I didn't know that. That's going to be really cool. I'm getting closer to Jon the past few years, so sharing the final group with him, it's always been a dream.
I think Javy and I need to have a discussion tonight on how we're going to plan about it, but I think just keep doing the same thing. I've been fortunate enough to have some nice pairings throughout my amateur and professional career so far, so maybe I have that experience, and whatever happens tomorrow, I'll be happy with it and I'll learn from it.
