Quick Quotes

Q. Could you just talk us through your round? Obviously very productive out there today.

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Played pretty solid round today. I played 16 greens in regulation, and everything is good, in a great pattern, so keep going tomorrow.

Q. How did you feel about the game coming into this week?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: It felt great to be playing in the U.S. I'm really excited to play golf in the U.S. because I play only in Asia, and I'm excited to play in the U.S.

I will try my best, and the way I played today, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Q. Have you ever played any competitive round in the U.S. before?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: It's a long time ago. I played PGA Championship like two years ago, and that's it.

Q. You played in the first season at LIV Golf 2022, played in all eight events. How determined are you to get back and earn your way into 2026 LIV Golf?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I want to get back on LIV Golf because I have a big leap in the world and the player is (indiscernible). I try to get into LIV Golf this year, so that gets me a great experience to play with the greatest players in the world.

Q. You've played in Promotions events before.

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I played last two.

Q. How do you think that experience helps in any way with this week? Obviously a different schedule.

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I try to play in my tempo. I start on the first five holes, five straight pars. I tried to keep my momentum. I don't need to fast to the tempo, and trying to get my tempo and make a second birdie on 11, that makes good momentum to play today.

Q. Last I looked, before we had scoreboard issues, there were three players from Thailand that are in the top eight or nine. Any particular reason do you think that is?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I think this is because the grass is like in Thailand. The weather is pretty hot, same as Thailand. That's why the Thai players play pretty good this week. I think so.

Q. Also, I'm guessing that it's also warm in Thailand, and so you don't have to adjust to the weather very much?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, of course. It's similar here to Thailand.

Q. When did you get to the United States for this, and how long had you been practicing and preparing for this tournament?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I come to the U.S. the 2nd of the year. I had three days off and trying to get a fresh body and looking to play pretty good in this tournament.

Q. Before today, what was your last tournament round?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Two or three weeks ago in Mauritius.

Q. Is it easy for you to take the rust off quickly?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: No. I feel a bit tired. I feel a bit -- long week off for me. I'm trying to hit like every single week and play better.

Q. After this round, what will you work on this afternoon coming into a very stressful round tomorrow?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Trying to hit on the fairway more than today. I think today I hit pretty good. I missed only two or three fairways. So tomorrow I keep to play every fairway because I think the pins are pretty harder than today.

Q. You have played on the International Series a lot last year, too. Does playing on those elevated events on the Asian Tour help you with these tournaments?

SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, of course. The International Series is a pretty good tournament and a lot of great players to play here. That's why I improve my short game, and my iron game is better than last year.
