Quick Quotes

Q. Excellent round today. You're atop the leaderboard. Can you take us through your round?

JEUNGHUN WANG: I'm just so happy that I'm playing the next two days. I'm really excited to play the next two days. I'll just give it my best.

Q. At the previous Promotions event you also played well the first two days, didn't go as well on the weekend. What kind of experiences will you take from that tournament into this weekend?

JEUNGHUN WANG: The difference is the last year was 36 holes, and this year it's 18 holes. It's more comfortable for me to play 18-18. I'll just do my best.

Q. What is it about these first two rounds at the Promotions event that seem to bring out the best in you?

JEUNGHUN WANG: I just don't really get nervous maybe. Not really. So that's the key; I just play my game and play well.

Q. What would it mean for you to be one of the three guys at the end of Sunday to gain a spot on LIV Golf?

JEUNGHUN WANG: It would be a really big opportunity for me. Maybe for all the players, because it's a really Big League and a lot of good players, big names in LIV. I would be very excited to play on LIV.

Q. Have you followed the league the last few years?

JEUNGHUN WANG: Yes, I always see the scores. And there's some Korean team, as well. Yeah, always see the scores.

Q. You qualified for the event through the International Series ranking and you finished second at the Moutai Singapore Open. Does that boost your confidence coming into this week?

JEUNGHUN WANG: Oh, yes, of course. I wasn't really playing that good before Singapore, but after Singapore I got a lot of confidence, and still now I have a lot of confidence.

I'm really looking forward to playing the next two days.

Q. Asaji, the winner of that event, just got into LIV Golf. Is that a source of inspiration for you coming into this week, and are you looking to join a wild card with him?

JEUNGHUN WANG: A little bit, yes. I feel like I can do as well. Hopefully play well the next two days.

Q. How different is the mindset when you know you have to do something in 18 holes as opposed to a 72-hole tournament?

JEUNGHUN WANG: Maybe I feel more aggressive because I only have 18 holes. That makes more birdies, I think.

Q. Are you typically an aggressive player?

JEUNGHUN WANG: Yeah, a little bit.
