Quick Quotes

Q. First off, how did it feel just to be in contention and to be in that kind of spot where you can raise a trophy?

MARINA ALEX: Yeah, it was good. It's always enjoyable to be in the last group. Always a lot of lessons from it that.

Wasn't a great day. Just wish things had clicked a little bit more easier than they had the first two days. It's the last round and a lot of different variables now, so kind of understand that.

Yeah, but Leona had a great day. It was really awesome to watch her play. She really got into a groove there kind of like middle of the front and into that back nine, made a ton of birdies.

So just had a push to try and keep up with her. Didn't really work out, but that's okay. Proud of her. She had a great day today.

Q. Was it nice to not necessarily have that kind of feeling that you lost it versus someone else -- like having someone go out and shoot a low number?

MARINA ALEX: Yeah, no, totally. I do think a low number was out there condition-wise. I don't feel like I really gave it my best effort today.

I feel like would've been -- I mean, I'm not taking away anything. She played amazing. I wish I would've given it a little bit more of a fight, yeah.

Q. Did the mindset, when you're in contention in a 54-hole event versus 72 and knowing there is one less day, did your mindset have to change?

MARINA ALEX: A little bit. I mean, you still have to go out and play the golf course. Yeah, there is no tomorrow so everything kind of is a little bit more important I guess in that last nine holes.

It's the last day, so you don't have a chance to make up for your mistakes for another 18 holes. Kind of just need to play clean.

Q. Would you say this motivated you to get back into this position?

MARINA ALEX: Totally. Yeah, absolutely.
