Quick Quotes

Q. So that was an amazing round today.

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Thank you.

Q. Really good round. How do you feel after that?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, good. I mean, I hit some really nice iron shots. I think the difference today, I holed out on number -- I think it was 13, the par-5 -- from like 112. That was a nice little kickstart to the round.

Then I just played steady. I had a little issue with the driver on the back nine, but I just felt like I scrambled really well around. Made some decent putts. Overall pretty happy with where I am.

Q. Felt like the wind maybe got up a little bit this afternoon. How is the course different?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, obviously I played yesterday in the pro-am. It was cold and wet, so it was a little different. The greens are a little softer than they were at the start of the week, so that's been nice to play.

Then it was nice to play in a little breeze. Definitely helped on a couple holes, couple reachable par-5s. So that was always exciting.

Q. Not to say the season hasn't already started yet, but now we're really back.

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah.

Q. How are you feeling heading into this core part of the season?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, it's weird, because this is the first week for a lot of people. I've been playing since January, so I feel like I've gotten the rust off early. I'm really happy with where my game is at right now.

You know, excited for the rest of the season. Got some really nice tournaments coming up, and, yeah, so...

Q. You went to college over in New Mexico.

JODI EWART SHADOFF: I did.

Q. Not exactly like this, but similar feeling to be back in this area?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: I really love the southwest. The desert golf is a little different in New Mexico, but a lot of similarities with the elevation and the firmness of the courses.

Definitely feel like I have a little bit of an advantage with that. It can be hard to get used to the elevation and how far you're hitting each club.

And then with it being cold as well, you have to factor in a lot of different things out here. So I really enjoy the challenge.

Q. Last question: You faced up with the challenge today. What's the game plan for tomorrow?

JODI EWART SHADOFF: Just get some good rest tonight and just try and come out here and do more the same tomorrow.
