Quick Quotes

PEIYUN CHIEN: All right, bogey-free 65. Just walk me through what was working so well for you on this second day.

PEIYUN CHIEN: I just very focused every shot. I just tried to play as slow as I can on this course.

Q. For you, let's take a look. Two birdies back to back to start off your round. When did things start clicking for you?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Just because this morning was very cold so I have to think about the average in not pretty far here.

After three holes the temperature, it's going up, so the distant is different.

So I think play Arizona you have to very careful about the temperature.

Q. What were some of the highlights for you out there? A lot of birdies on the card, but which one stands our to you the most.

PEIYUN CHIEN: A lot. Like I really focused my every putt because I change to my space. Like see the line and just play quicker, because I was look around and think too much and cannot go through.

So I just change little things and doing very well.

Q. What were those little things that you changed?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Just the tempo and my timing. So I'm doing shorter and just -- because when I practice.

So I'm doing shorter and just -- because when I practice I just hit it. I didn't look around. I just think I have to trust my feelings. Have to very trust my feeling and just hit it and commit.

Q. We talked a couple times over the last couple events. How would you grade your play this season?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Because I think my thinking is more clear with my second shot, like I have to be sure or over, like I have to commit every single shot I want.

And if I didn't do it, it's okay. If I do it, just tell myself I'm a good player and keep doing, keep doing. Couple tournament I was in leaderboard and I was too care about the score, so I'm still learning.

Q. For you, as such a long hitter, how much fun is it to come out here and not have a lot of trouble and really just be able to hit your driver as far as you want to?

PEIYUN CHIEN: I think this course is wide open so I can just hit it. It's not -- I think for my age is okay, but in this tour still have a lot of long driver.

So, I don't know, I just keep straighter. I was hitting very -- try to hitting very far, so that break my swing. So I learn play smarter.

Q. What will you take into the weekend knowing that your name is in contention once again? What did you learn in past experiences already this year when you've seen your name on the leaderboard?

PEIYUN CHIEN: So I was in the leaderboard, I was very nervous, and even I cannot sleep at the night.

So I learn if I can swing slower it helps me a lot.

Q. Do you think you'll feel those nerves like maybe you did in Thailand?

PEIYUN CHIEN: Yes. Second day I play with Sei Young. She's a good fighter. I learn a lot from Ariya because she's very calm with every shot.

Was just always watching a lot of good player in LPGA. You know, everybody's dream come true to play here, so I'm very lucky, still learning.
