MATT JESUS: Pleased to be joined by Yealimi Noh here know ahead of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. We'll start couple weeks ago. Got to tee it up with Team USA at Solheim Cup. Had that great comeback.
Just talk about that experience getting to play in your second Solheim Cup.
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, it was an amazing experience just being able to play again after five years of being away. I had the best time ever with my teammates, regardless of how the week ended. We just had so much fun every day on the golf course, off the golf course. I feel like we all got to know each other a little bit better as well.
MATT JESUS: How do you then kind of take that team atmosphere, you know, that kind of stuff, and then transition back to just you back on the course, you and your caddie or whoever it may be?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, it was funny. After Solheim week we were all like having withdrawals. We were spending every day together and hanging out. Back to home it was kind of tough. From what I've heard from other players it's a bit of a rough coming back home, getting sick and having the off week.
It was rough for me. I got sick, too just with the weather and all the stuff going on.
But, yeah, just getting back into the groove. This is what we're normally used to, so I think the week of Solheim was very special and now it's back to work.
MATT JESUS: Speaking of, this tournament is celebrating its 20th anniversary. You've tee'd it up, this will be your seventh time. What is about this event that you keep coming back to?
YEALIMI NOH: Well, I think it's one of the best events on the schedule for us. Not only is it a three-day event which is always nice and the purse is always great; Walmart does an amazing job every year bringing all the players back. The community in this area is so awesome to be around.
It's a very short flight from Dallas, so that always helps.
MATT JESUS: What is it about this golf course that you're able to take advantage of?
YEALIMI NOH: I think every year it's a pretty big birdiefest and kind of just come into the week knowing we got to play our every day. Like always. Since it's three days, just got to be aggressive and try to get as many birdies out there as you can.
I think just taking advantage of the par-5s for me this week will be key, yeah.
Q. Are there a couple holes you really have to pay attention to here, you know, just difficult holes?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I think hole four is a good hole. It's a bit longer and you got to put yourself in a good position in the fairway to attack the green with the hazard on the right.
I think that's a great hole.
And 11 is also a good one. When the tee is in the back and the pin is also in the back it's a long par-3, so makes it a little bit challenging.
MATT JESUS: One more. Pretty much winding down the season here. We have the Asia stretch and the The Annika and CME. How would you assess your season so far?
YEALIMI NOH: It's been a roller coaster. It's been quite a tough year for me. Thankfully I had a great week at the AIG Women's Open, which really turned year around for me. It's been a bit of a struggle this year, but I'm excited for the rest of the season and playing my best to finish off the year.
MATT JESUS: Do you have a goal in mind?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, after Solheim I felt like I played some really good golf, and I want to win one in Asia. That would be amazing. Just to play well at CME and hopefully make it and do well.
Q. You touched on this a little bit talking about the 20th anniversary. The LPGA Tour as you know goes to big markets and medium sized markets like this. When you guys play in events like this where the community comes out in droves, especially on day one, how does that energize you as players knowing you want to perform for everybody on the stands?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I think it's such a big motivation. I always say every year we come here it seems like there is something new going on in the area. Like this place in particular, like always new developments, and it's really cool to see it grow every year.
It's very exciting to see all the people come out as well. I know a lot of girls stay at host families and have a great number of support.
