Q. Okay, here with Stephanie Meadow after her first round at The Standard Portland Classic. First round back in a little bit. Just talk about what it felt like to be out there again.
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Yeah, amazing. It's been also a year since the I tee'd it up, so obviously felt a little bit like a fish out of water. Again, I've been doing this a long time, so I just tried to pull on that.
Didn't have my best day but kept fighting and definitely some rust, but more days, more tournaments to come.
Q. Had a birdie to finish there. What kind of momentum did that give to you finish even par?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Yeah, I mean, I was 2-over, kind of not having many birdie opportunities and I was kind of like thinking to myself, okay, I'm not going to get skunked on the first 18 holes back.
It was nice to make a birdie on 16 and another one on 18. Just proud of myself that I'm back and I'm here and I kept fighting and even though I didn't feel amazing I still kept going.
Q. What was your goals or objectives heading into this week? What were you telling yourself?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Just to try to get comfortable again. Try to get a feel for what's going on. You know, home and competition are two very different things, so just trying to get as many reps under my belt as I can; maybe some putts fall here and there and I have a good week.
Most importantly just have fun and get comfortable.
Q. What can you say about this golf course, too? It looks beautiful from up here.
STEPHANIE MEADOW: It is. I think it's the best shape I've ever seen it in, so that's phenomenal. It's always nice to start on a golf course that's tree-lined and sort of reminds me of parkland golf back in Ireland. It's a great venue and obviously a great sponsor and great tournament.
Q. Last question: Why this event? Why did you choose to come back to this one?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Post European Swing. Yeah, I think I've always liked playing here. I think it's comfortable. Yeah, I would say it worked well in the schedule and I was ready to come back.
