THE MODERATOR: All right, welcome to the media center at the 2025 ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer.

Joined here by Asterisk Talley, sponsor invite this week. How grateful are you to be in this position this week?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, super excited to get the experience this week. Really grateful for the opportunity, and I'm just happy to be here. Hopefully play some good golf this week.

Q. So I'm hearing you found out last week that you would be in this tournament. Just talk about the preparation and kind of the mindset to prepare for this event and get ready for it.

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, really last minute. I was planning to travel back on Monday for school and stuff, and then just finding out about it and kind of -- it was hectic trying to get here on time, but I ended up flying out on Monday to come here straight from The Open.

Excited to play this week and I was grateful for the invite. No matter how short the notice it was, it was pretty cool.

Q. You said about school, what have you been doing with school? You mentioned briefly about finals. What are some other things you've had to do outside of golf that some of the other players haven't had to do?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, just finished my finals in two days like right before this tournament, and then finishing every assignment before school was over so I'm not crammed with all this stuff to do during a tournament.

Just studying last week during the Open and tying to get it all done, and then coming out here and grinding some more is pretty tough.

Q. Just your thoughts on the course this week? Guessing you already went out and practiced. What are your thoughts and how you think it's going to suit your game this week?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, pretty much the only defense is like the wind is going to pick up and it's going to be pretty tough to handle.

Other than that, just fairways and greens. You hit anywhere on the green and you'll have a pretty good look at it, so I think that's just going to be what I focus on, just hitting those fairways and greens and trying to make birdie and things like that.

Q. Is there anything different you noticed about this event? This event seems to have a big local feel compared to other events that we have out here. What have you noticed in the first couple days of being in ShopRite?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, big local feel. They are definitely going to have an eye on the course, so just trying to get that familiarity early on in the week is definitely going to be crucial to know the little quirks of the course.

It's a pretty short course, so knowing where to miss is going to be really important.

Q. And this isn't your first LPGA Tour event. What can you say about continuing to get into these fields and continuing to have the experience of playing in LPGA Tour events before you're a professional?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, super grateful to get the experience. Every time, it's just really something that it's going to really help in the future. So it's really great to get the experience and I'm super grateful for every opportunity that I get.

Q. What do you take away from weeks like this and especially weeks like last week at a major championship? Is there anything you grab from them that you hope to carry on and continue in your own game?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, just kind of learning from the pros, especially learning from my own game. When you miss it by one and like you have those heartbreak moments, it's definitely something that's going to happen more often than not.

So just trying to learn how to bounce back and learning from my game from when that happens.

Q. How do you hope to gain an advantage as one of the youngest players in this field? Obviously that can be daunting, but it's not your first LPGA event. How do you hope to use that to your advantage this week?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, just getting the opportunity with the pros that most players my age don't get to do, which is super awesome, just getting to play with pros older than me and have really good experience. I've been getting to talk to them a lot and just getting to know their mindset throughout the course and building myself to get to that point before I hit the Tour.

Q. And talking about school earlier, how important is that balance for you as a rising junior amateur golfer, and especially in an environment where it could be easy to let that fall by the wayside?

ASTERISK TALLEY: Yeah, it's really important just getting to balance that. It's kind of just something that I focus on that helps me get away from golf while still learning a lot. It's school, so I'm just trying to learn everything I can on and off the course, and that really helps balance it out and not just golf, golf, golf, all the time.

Q. How do you think you did on your finals?

ASTERISK TALLEY: I got a couple in already and I did pretty good. I'm pretty confident with the rest of them. Pretty sure it'll be good.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you.

ASTERISK TALLEY: Thanks.
