Quick Quotes

Q. All right, joining us here today after the second round of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is Grace Kim. Another great round today. Can you just talk about your momentum through the first two?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I mean, I just kind of kept my mojo going. Just hit lots of fairways and tried to make a lot of putts. It helped probably I hit a few more close today, making more easier birdies.

Yeah, I guess just stayed in my lane really.

Q. We're seeing more people go low today. Do you think that the course has changed or you think it's just an adjustment?

GRACE KIM: I think maybe some pins are easier, but, yeah, I think it's pretty similar to yesterday. Maybe we're just getting more and more used to the course and trying to adjust with that I guess.

Q. This is such a big year for you. First major win in dramatic fashion and then the International Crown victory with Team Australia. For you, have you settled into kind of like your stardom this season and do you feel like you're more comfortable being Grace Kim, major champion and Crown winner?

GRACE KIM: I'm still a little bit uncomfortable I guess. I guess I'm never going to take that away me, but at the same time, every time it does sound quite refreshing. Maybe still hasn't sunk in yet, but if anything, The Crown has sunk in more than the Evian has.

Yeah, it's been nice to be able to get all this done this year. I guess sometimes when I do doubt myself I just kind of tell myself like I got it done before; there is nothing holding me back.

So I guess you can see it both ways.

Q. Is that the mindset you'll take into the weekend being at the top of the heap in terms of scores out there?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I guess you have to, especially in the position that I am. We've got a very strong field this week as well, so making sure I have all the backing you have within myself and move on forward with that.

Q. Hadn't played this tournament since the 2023. Obviously wanted to come back I'm sure because of the venue and the way the tournament is run. For you, what's been the adjustment period? I know the notes from 2023 may not have translated to 2025. What have you been able to capitalize on?

GRACE KIM: I think I've definitely ticked the box in the distance part. It definitely helps having shorter clubs in, especially with the greens being firm. Yeah, definitely being able to adjust to the wind conditions better, and maybe even some non-flat lies as well.

Yeah, I think just being able to upgrade my game since 2023 that has helped.

Q. With the two big wins this year, is there a greater comfort level seeing your name at the very top of the leaderboard?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, a little bit. Obviously in Evian I came kind of from behind. Just being able to, like you said, comfortable in that position; it's kind of where everyone wants to be and you come into the week wanting to win the event.

Actually seeing my name up top is nice, but obviously the tournament is not finished yet. I'm just going to continue to do my best.
