Q. Joining me today after the second round of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is Kai Trump. Good round today.
KAI TRUMP: Thank you.
Q. Talk about how you felt more comfortable out there during your second round.
KAI TRUMP: Yeah, for the first day I was definitely really nervous. I think the nerves just got to me. When I went out there today I felt very calm and peaceful to be honest with you.
And, yeah, that's why I played better.
Q. A lot of players at the top of the leaderboard were talking about how they're still nervous even though they're major champions. What sort of takeaways will you take to college now that you've played in this event?
KAI TRUMP: I mean, honestly just prepare. I did everything I could possibly have done for this tournament, so I think if you prepare right the nerves can -- I mean, they're always going to be there, right? They can be a little softened. So I would just say that.
Q. Thanks.
KAI TRUMP: Yeah, thank you.
Q. When your grandfather calls what's going to be the first thing you tell him about the day?
KAI TRUMP: That I hit a great shot on 18 two days in a row.
Q. What about that shot on 12?
KAI TRUMP: Yeah, I mean, I almost made a hole-in-one. I hit like a tight little draw into it. Tried not to get too high because of the wind. Yeah it was a great shot.
Q. Have you ever made a hole-in-one before?
KAI TRUMP: No, not yet.
Q. What was going through your mind after 5 with the triple coming back around, turning things around? What allowed you to get yourself back in the game and staying focused?
KAI TRUMP: Yeah, I mean, things are going to happen. Once it happens you can't go back in time and fix it. The best thing I could do is move on. Like told my caddie, Allan, kind of just started laughing. It is what it is. We got that out of the way, so let's just move on. It was pretty easy to move on after that.
