Q. All right, joining me here today after the second round of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is Linn Grant. Linn, great round today. Could you take us through it, some of your highlights?
LINN GRANT: Very, very solid. I hit some really good shots. Tee-to-green today was very good. I felt like I played similar yesterday but I just couldn't get the putts to go in, and today a lot of them went in.
So it was really fun out there. I just went out and told myself before like just do your best and try your best and not have too many -- too much pressure for myself.
Q. Yeah. You had eight birdies today; tied for the most in the field. What do you think it was that was so gettable? Do you think it was your putts? Was it your approach play?
LINN GRANT: Like I said, I've been hitting my irons really well. I think especially if you can get like for me out here the range between like an 8 and a gap wedge is -- a lot of shots are around there. When I'm comfortable this course gets more gettable I assume.
And just, you know, having putts in the same range all around helps too to get the speed, and then just seeing them go in was really nice.
Q. Heading into the next two rounds how do you plan to keep this momentum going and what are you going to be focused on?
LINN GRANT: Oh, same thing. Just tell myself -- I think this season when I've been playing well I've just had very high expectations of myself. I think going out tomorrow just I really enjoy this course and I feel like it's easier for me to just go out and feel like I'm having fun.
It's been my motto for this two days. I think I'm just going to continue to do that and see where it goes.
Q. Obviously with this being The ANNIKA, can you just speak a little bit about what she did for Swedish golf and European golf in general?
LINN GRANT: Yeah, I played in Annika's events since I was 14, 13.
You know, I met her pretty much every year since then, getting all her tips and tricks. Not entirely getting to know her, but a little bit I assume, and just learning a bit from her, seeing her and kind of feeling like it's possible to play out here, and she's been a huge inspiration.
Just having this event and what she does for all the juniors back home is so big. I mean, I feel like she could do anything but she gives back so much. It's really nice to see that.
Q. After that opening bogey was there anything about your bounceback? You reeled off three in a row, birdies, after that.
LINN GRANT: Yeah, I don't know. Sometimes bogey on the first kind of helps you relax a little bit, just to like get more motivated I assume, and I think that was what it was today. Like I didn't hold on, like hold too tight in my putter. I just felt more relaxed. Yeah.
Q. You said you played better than I guess your score yesterday. Did you feel like today you had a 63 in there somewhere?
LINN GRANT: Yeah, I mean, I walked of the course yesterday and said I for sure had a minus-5, and today I felt like I scored kind of how I played. Still left a couple putts -- you always leave a couple putts out there.
Yeah, it was just very relaxing and kind of nice to see things go your way.
Q. Did you feel like you could even have taken it lower today?
LINN GRANT: I mean, you can always do that, can't you? I mean, just a couple like two, three putts that was kind of inside, I don't know, 15 feet that could have dropped in, too.
But, yeah, very satisfied with today's round.
Q. Today you were talking about how it was important to have fun, and yesterday you stopped by the I Got This clinic and said hi to the participants. Did that have any bearing on your mindset going into today?
LINN GRANT: Oh, I guess so. I actually thought about it when I walked obvious. I was like, that's maybe that's given me some good vibes I guess.
It was really impressive to see them hit on the range and just they were all very happy. Gave me a lot of energy to be fair.
