Quick Quotes

Q. All right are here with Auston Kim after the final round to the The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. 7-under 63 today. Just walk us throughout final round today.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, I mean, it's pretty calm. Thankfully made no bogeys today. I think that was pretty cool. I played a lot of tournaments where I have just made way, way too many mistakes.

But clean card today. Pretty proud of that. Felt like I saw a lot putts go in. Made a couple good par saves. I made a really good putt on the last hole and on 16.

Overall really solid day and I made a lot of good putts and hit a lot of good drives, stuffed a lot. I mean, it's, again, like just step by step and hit a lot of good shots today so it was good.

Q. One more event left this year. Next week heading into CME. You have a pretty good track record heading into the Tour Championship.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah.

Q. Now a 7-under round leading into it. What kind of confidence does that give you going into next week?

AUSTON KIM: I think it's really cool that I played so well this week on such a tough track and the greens were rolling so, so quick. It got windy out there the past couple days, so it gives me a lot of confidence in myself. There is also quite a few things I need to work on.

But, I feel good. I feel confident. I feel really grateful that I get the opportunity to compete next week. So it's another opportunity to play some good golf and have some fun.

Q. How did you find certainty in uncertainty today?

AUSTON KIM: That's a good question, man.

Q. You did it.

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, I think warming up this morning, like I was really intent on having a good day. The past couple of tournaments that I've played like heading into the Sunday like I don't want give myself so much pressure and just make things harder.

Like I really felt intent to have a good day and I feel like when I played Korea and Malaysia, like I had really solid final rounds. So waking up with a purpose and wanting to do my best and just being intent on having a good day and feeling positive, just doing my best overall, and I had fun with it today.

I was just ready to play golf when I woke up. I think that was a really good mentality to have.

Q. How excited are you to make in your first berth in the season finale?

AUSTON KIM: I'm really excited. I think it'll be a good week. I've never been there. It will be my first time. Again, really excited to go and have the opportunity to compete. I never take weeks out here for granted. That's been a big lesson that I learned. Playing on the LPGA is a dream and like I would never take any week out here for granted.

So just be able to cap off the year at Pelican, such a great venue and being able to compete at the Tour Championship, like I'm just really excited. Really happy. That's a great way to cap off the year.

Q. For you obviously last year you were a bubble girl this week. What would you tell the girls that played their way in or out this week?

AUSTON KIM: Yeah, it's definitely not the greatest feeling being on the bubble but there, is there is always an opportunity. Like you have a chance. That's what I was telling myself last year. Again, I didn't want to give myself so much pressure to make it to the Tour Championship. Like if I made it great, if I didn't it's not the ends the world.

But being able to compete next week is a cherry on top at the end of the season. Last year I didn't get it, but it's okay. I feel like that gave me a little bit more motivation to play better this year, and for me to have accomplished that goal so early on in the year was a great feeling.

So golf is hard and we play a lot of weeks out here, so any week can be your week, and just not taking any weeks out here for granted, competing hard, and just relishing in the opportunity.
