Q. Joining me here today after the final round of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is Brooke Matthews. You had a hole-in-one today and followed it up shortly after with an eagle. Can you just talk about that.
BROOKE MATTHEWS: Yeah, it was probably the craziest moment of my life honestly. It was 140; had a 9-iron; hit like one hopped on the left hill and went in, and I still can't believe it.
That was my first ever hole-in-one, so it was a pretty special moment. And then, yeah, the chip in, I was like what's going on? I was really just trying to settle my heart rate. I was like. I can't believe I have to play more holes.
Q. You had a crazy round yesterday as well. Do you like rounds like this that are exciting and fun or would you have rather had an even way into the final round?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: Who knows. You didn't really get to pick. I guess you got to take them when you can get them. Didn't feel very comfortable at all on the front nine and then the back nine I was even more stressed honestly and crazy things happened.
I wouldn't mind a little more calm round after these last two days, but if it means I can do stuff like this I guess I'll keep going.
Q. The CME Group Cares challenge donates $20,000 for ever hole-in-one made on the LPGA Tour. Did you know about that? And how does it feel contributing?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: No, that's great. That makes it even better. I feel like I can't wait to see it on film. It was just so exciting and, yeah, that's icing on the cake that it's going to help something, too.
Q. Did you leave your jaw on the 12th tee? The mouth was agape pretty much the entire time you walked up to the tee.
BROOKE MATTHEWS: I still can't believe it. I don't know what to say. It was literally the craziest moment of my life. I blacked out. I have no idea what happened after that.
Q. To come out here and do what you did with your back against the wall really needing to make something happen, not for status, bit for CME next week, what does this week mean to you overall so play so well here?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: Yeah, it means a lot. I made the decision at the beginning of the week that if I made it or if I didn't I was going to be okay with it, and I had a really good season and something to build off. Obviously it's kind of like the icing on the cake. Didn't really feel great out there off the tee but I was kind of proud of myself how I just kept going and trying to find it. When I hit a bad shot I just played it and didn't let it take it into the next hole.
Q. They're still projecting right now, but how excited are you to make your first start next week?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: Yeah, I'm so excited. That's the season-long goal, so we'll see how it all shakes out when everybody gets in. Yeah, I'm really, really excited.
Q. You said first lifetime hole-in-one. Casual rounds or...
BROOKE MATTHEWS: Ever ever.
Q. Cash or wheels?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: We will see. I have to see how the deal shakes out. I'm thinking wheels know though. I really am. We'll see. Can't give a definitive answer.
Q. At any point in your golfing life have you had a more adventurous weekend?
BROOKE MATTHEWS: No, no. I think that's a one-word answer. From what I can remember definitely as a pro this has been my craziest weekend so far. Maybe we'll calm it down, who knows.
