Quick Quotes

Q. Was today kind of maybe like a perfect example of not only Jin Young, but you as well and the seasons you guys had and how one of you can just turn it on at any time?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, honestly it was definitely the Jin Young Ko Show today. It was really cool to witness. Obviously I wish I could have kind of given it a better run, but in all, I think I had a great year.

So I'm just going to kind of look back on that and enjoy it. But today was -- she just played amazing golf. There is not much you can do. Just sit back and watch honestly.

Q. Still pretty pleased with your performance overall this week?

NELLY KORDA: This week? No, not so much. I've been kind of struggling a little with my putter, just not so much confidence, so that's something I'll definitely work on in the off-season.

Q. Was there a time where you looked up or a shot, hole that you got through and you were just like, This just isn't going my way today?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, I hit it pretty close and then I just didn't convert them. It was pretty much all day where I was just like, Okay, you know what? Let's just kind of do what we can today and see how it goes.

Q. Seemed like you had a chip shot on I think it was 13. It was a par-5.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, yeah.

Q. You seemed a little frustrated after that one.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah.

Q. It didn't stop.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, no, I was actually practicing that during my practice rounds and I didn't remember what club I was hitting it with. I knew that I pulled the wrong one once I hit it, so that's why I was frustrated. I was frustrated with myself there. Not anything else.

Q. Did you feel tired today?

NELLY KORDA: No, I felt pretty good. My energy level was pretty good.

Q. Nelly, definitely a bit of a disappointing finish you weren't looking for. What was the biggest challenge out there today?

NELLY KORDA: I think just like converting putts, and kind of that's pretty much it. It was kind of the Jin Young Ko Show today. It was honestly really cool to see.

She made everything, so it was just kind of sat back and watched all day.

Q. Still a remarkable season overall. The four wins, gold medalist. What would you take away from this season overall?

NELLY KORDA: That I can -- if I set my mind to it I can do anything. I had a good year, and I'm just going to go back and kind of think about my year and kind of let it kind of soak in, which I'm super excited about, and get ready for next year.

Q. What will you do in the meantime? How will you spend the off-season?

NELLY KORDA: Unsure. Definitely going to go out to the west coast for a little. It's going to be a quick one. I'm playing the PNC event with my dad in December so I'm not going to get much time off.

I told him that I'm going to sacrifice my off-season for him so he better be practicing. He's carrying the team. But, yeah, I'm just going to enjoy some family time.

Q. You need a day to be able to look back and reflect on the year after this tournament, or can you already look back and feel good about what you accomplished?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, I feel so great about getting to world No. 1, winning a major championship, and getting a gold medal.

It's honestly been crazy, but, you know, a lot of people tried to put like the award situation I feel like in my head a little, and I guess sometimes that gets the best of you.

You may come out of this thinking, Hey, I didn't win an award. It wasn't that good of a year. If I look back, it's like Jesus, I've done a lot.

Q. You've got a gold medal. No one else has that.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah. And I have a major championship. I'm very pleased. It may not seem like that, but I'm pleased.
