Q. So another really solid round for you. Three birdies today; clean scorecard. Tell us how you played today.
SARAH KEMP: Yeah, really solid. Lots of fairways, greens. I had a chip-in. Rolled it really well. It was just steady.
I hit one fairway bunker short, but, yeah, just overall really steady.
Q. Was your chip-in on 14? I was going to ask about that. When it says no putt you're like, Oh, what happened?
SARAH KEMP: I had two yesterday and I couldn't believe that I had another one today. Yeah, my caddie sort of joked and he's like, I'll just hit you just short on most of these then.
But, yeah, I actually hit it in the fairway bunker and hit a good 8-iron just short of the green. Yeah, I was -- I wasn't expecting a chip-in. I just wanted to get it up and down.
Yeah, it was a bonus, so that was nice.
Q. You're always smiling, always chipper, but you seem to be in a good spot this week.
SARAH KEMP: Yeah, you know, we were talking about it yesterday. I've just sort of done a good job of being patient. It's been really hard.
Like I was saying yesterday, I haven't started off the year very well at all. I have slowly gotten a little bit better, but I still missed the ANA cut by one and San Diego by a few more.
But I gradually got a little better each time. That was in the back of my mind. But, yeah, you know, overall my life's pretty good off the golf course, so that's the main thing, so I'm happy with that.
Q. How was the wind today? You seemed to manage it well.
SARAH KEMP: Yeah, I grew up at course in Australia that's very windy, so I feel comfortable hitting lower golf shots.
So that, yeah, it's -- it can get gusty. You really got pick a good time to hit it. But, yeah, keeping it low is super big advantage around here.
Q. What's the name of that golf course?
SARAH KEMP: New South Wales Golf Club.
Q. Okay.
SARAH KEMP: Yeah.
Q. I was taking to Haeji before you, and she said she practiced the lower flight shots last week. Is that something you thought about coming in?
SARAH KEMP: Yeah, yeah. I've hit a lot of -- I got out my launch monitor on Tuesday and we practiced a lot of low sort of fades, a lot of low draws, because there's quite a lot of crosswinds out here, too, so you've really got to flight your ball certain ways.
Yeah, I didn't hit a whole lot of high shots; lots of lows.
Q. So now you've got a free afternoon in Hawaii. What are you going to do?
SARAH KEMP: You know, how far is Pipeline away? I'm actually -- do you know? How far is it?
Q. From here, I think probably maybe 45 minutes to an hour.
SARAH KEMP: That may be in the cards. We'll see how much time I have, but I might have a nap then head to the beach, find some more poke.
