Azahara Munoz

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Azahara Munoz. Obviously fellow Spaniard won the Masters on Sunday. What were some of the emotions you felt seeing that happen?

AZAHARA MUNOZ: It was amazing. You know, I think obviously Jon has been playing so, so amazing lately. He deserves it. You know, he has so much self-belief and I think it's going to be incredible for Spanish golf obviously.

I was trying to like check the news to see what was happening and everybody was all over it, so it was really great to see.

Q. To do it on Seve's birthday, and obviously Jose Olazabal has won there as well, what do you think that means for the future of Spanish golf?

AZAHARA MUNOZ: I think it's great. Obviously we all grew up watching Seve, but what Jon is doing, it's tough to compare. It's different people, different times. But what Jon is doing is even more than what Seve was doing, so I think it's going to be incredible.

I think so many young kids are going to grow up looking up to him because now he's won two majors, No. 1 in the world, and I think the sky is the limit.

He's only going to get better and better.

Q. For you, does seeing something like that motivate you? I know Spanish blood runs deep, but does that motivate you, do you think?

AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah, sure. Every time you see someone doing something so special it kind of gets you going, you know. I was crying when he won because at least me, I kind of feel like, oh, my God, if that was me that would've been amazing. Seeing him, his dad there, his family, his little ones. So, yeah, definitely got me going, so for sure.
