SAVANNAH GREWAL: ... nothing too crazy. Had that bogey on my second hole and then just stayed steady pretty much after that. Kind of had a little hiccup on 17 but managed to bounce back and save par there.
So, yeah, felt like it was just steady round.
Q. To be able to birdie I think the last coming in or one of the last holes coming in, how does that help set the tone for what this back nine was for you?
SAVANNAH GREWAL: Yeah, I mean, I think it just -- I tried to stay really present. Tried to stay where my feet were. I knew there were a lot of holes left, so I told myself just stay present, stay focused, it's going to blow; just go do what you're doing.
Q. And you and A Lim in the same group trading birdies back and forth.
SAVANNAH GREWAL: Yeah, it was so fun watch her play. I mean, she eagled the first hole. I was like, she's going to have a good day. Yeah, it was a lot of fun to just watch her.
I felt like I learned a lot by watching her. She's a major champion, so when you're paired with a major champion it's always super cool.
Q. To set the tone for the week you were able to do a fun excursion on behalf of Hawai'i Tourism. Take me through what that was like.
SAVANNAH GREWAL: Yeah, I was so thankful for the opportunity. We got to go out on a canoe and kind of go along the coastline. It was beautiful. We learned a lot about just Hawaiian culture, sea turtles, the natural habitats and stuff like that. It was unreal. I loved it. It was beautiful. Views were beautiful. I had great company.
It was a lot of fun, and I love to do those kind of things when I'm traveling. It was a great experience.
Q. Is this your first time in Hawai'i?
SAVANNAH GREWAL: Yeah, first time in Hawai'i. It's been a Bucket List place, so I'm happy to be here.
Q. There is only a you few events left in the schedule, and obviously a big week for anyone on the Race to the CME Globe. Really a key point is trying to grab as many points as possible. How do experiences like that kind of bring you back into perspective of being out here on Tour no matter what?
SAVANNAH GREWAL: I think it just makes me grateful that I'm on Tour and that I'm able to compete at the highest level.
Obviously there is a lot at stake, but I think it just kind of grounds me and reminds me to be grateful of the small things and I opportunities I do have.
Q. What's been your game plan coming into this last couple events?
SAVANNAH GREWAL: I think just staying present. I think earlier on in the year I kind of got ahead of myself and I kind of felt the need to prove myself out here; whereas now I think I just want to stay where my feet are, stay super present, and let my game do the talking.
Q. Now that you've got one day down, conquered with the winds here; wind is probably picking up again tomorrow. What is it about your game that you think you can showcase on a course like Hoakalei?
SAVANNAH GREWAL: Honestly, I think just mentally staying very steady. I never really get too excited. Never get too down on myself, and so I think that definitely helped out a lot, yeah.
