Quick Quotes

Q. Great fight, great round out there. Evaluate your day. You fought hard for that number?

DANIELLE KANG: I know, I think I left it all out there, but we got a lot of good things down this week, and so I'm happy about that. I've been testing balls and wedges to all these things every other week, and I feel like it's finally getting together. So I'm actually proud of the way I played.

I've been hitting my driver really well. I think I got a little bit unlucky with the lie on 16. That was a little bit rough having a mixed 8- or 7-iron into that green but it is what it is, and I really stayed in the moment. It's been a good week.

Q. I love to see a smile on your face after a round like that. What was your highlight out there today? You had a lot of really good golf shots.

DANIELLE KANG: Highlight was probably 6 for us because I am a very greedy player and I don't learn, so God will keep reminding me, you've got to be behind this pin. I don't learn. I hit it -- I wanted to be close, and that's a big caddie's job to help me out there. I think he learned on that hole that no matter how many times you tell me, I'm not going to listen, unless he figures out a wording that helps now.

On 18, he told me his word about front bunkers. It's all matching up now, so it's great. I told him, you have to tell me it's really, really penalizing, and also, I'll one of the best plug-lie bunker players.

Q. I just heard you're going to spend some serious money on some beer for the grounds crew this week. That's such a cool gesture. What does it mean to do something like that?

DANIELLE KANG: Normally what we do is in America, my caddie and I, we go buy cases of beers, and I have him help me out and load them up and give them to the grounds crew and things. This week, I thought the volunteers did an incredible job, so we add the volunteers this time, too.

In Singapore it's expensive but it's okay. They worked really hard to keep the golf course in the most championship condition possible and without them we would not have been able to play or finish 72 holes, so I just wanted to say thanks and have a beer on us.

Q. Got to be proud of your finish today. You seem like you're headed in a really positive direction right now. Does this validate that positive direction that you team to be going in?

DANIELLE KANG: Yes, it's a year -- I'm mostly focused about the entire year. I'm just happy I saw some green light here and there. And I can't wait to keep playing and improve on what I need to improve. I am excited for the year. There are specific tournaments I want to play well at and building up to those events is what my main goal is.
