Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Joining me after the final round of the Honda LPGA Thailand is our champion, Jeeno Thitikul. Jeeno, congratulations. What does it mean to you to win in your home country of Thailand?

JEENO THITIKUL: Like I said, it's mean a lot. I mean, like it's mean a lot to my family, especially my mom is here and my grandfather and grandmother is here. Like everyone in my family is here except my sister because she lazy.

Anyway, obviously all the Thai fans should be really proud because they always shouting like could you please win Honda LPGA. I was like I tried. I tried so bad. Obviously finally get it done and hopefully they can be happy and proud about it.

Q. You finished runner-up here before, third twice. What does it mean to you to finally get it done and what was going through your mind today?

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, I think all the things that happened in this course, I mean, I had a lot of memories with this golf course. I mean, playing the first as 14 years old, almost going to win on like 2021. I think '21 and '22 got a really good chance. I think I had a really like good run-in this golf course since like '21 until now.

But finally get it done after all the things what happen, I think it just kind of life perspective, like grateful. And then all the things that I have been doing, just on the right checks. Just nothing else, just grateful.

Q. This is your third win in five starts. Where is your game on the right now that's putting you in such a consistent position?

JEENO THITIKUL: To be honest, like I said, I'm pretty stress by my irons. Me and my coach -- I mean, like my coach saw me all the time before coming here, we practicing, and then I kind of stress out and I have a lot of swing thought to think about for the irons.

But obviously I don't know how I came to this position to win the tournament. I think it's just proving yourself that you don't have to like need a perfect like shots all the time to be able to win the tournaments.

You just need confidence and a lot of commitment on it.

Q. Congratulations, Jeeno. Can you tell us a little bit about the 17th hole and what was going through your mind on the second shot, if you were worried it was going to go over back into the bunker.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yes, I think I give the (indiscernible) to my caddie, because like the yardages wasn't that -- a full shot swing for me. It's just between clubs. I think it's 155 to the pin, 55 or 54. It's downwind.

I asked my caddie, do you want me to hit 140 or 145? He's just like, give me a sec. Be patient. Don't go to the ball yet. I'm pretty quick to going out on my routine. It's just like be patient, give me a sec.

He's like, 45. So he answer 45, so I just try to hit 45. I know it should be landing -- like I'm concern about to go over for the 45 because I've been talking about 40 or 45, but he give the final answer so I hit it.

And then, yeah, I just worry about it's going to get over but the line is good, so hopefully the slope can take it back for me.

Q. You were able to watch in front of you what was going on most of the back nine. Were you aware of the total scoreboard? What would you say was the most stressful moment on the back nine for you?

JEENO THITIKUL: I don't think like our group got warning so I don't see the group in front at all. I just saw her on 16, 17, 18 -- or 15, sorry, 15 because they wave us up to the green.

I don't think I got stressed, like stressed-stressed. I know what like I do and then what I have and what I think I really committed. Even I just got mad a little bit on 13 that I put it in the bunker.

I was like I hit it so perfect and then my caddie say, when you hit, it's a gust of wind, into the wind. I was like, ah.

Obviously I trying to stay patient and then, you know, when you hit it good doesn't mean it's going to turn out to be good, so you have to stay patient. I told myself, no worry. You got everything. Sometime you can't control.
