THE MODERATOR: All right, very pleased to be joined by Kiara Romero here at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. First time playing this event. Have you gotten to see the course at all yet?

KIARA ROMERO: No, I just flew in last night from the Curtis Cup.

Q. Doing a little something called the Curtis Cup.

KIARA ROMERO: Yeah.

Q. Just what have been your impressions of the club so far? Obviously you'll get to see the course a bit tomorrow, but what are your impressions of the club so far?

KIARA ROMERO: It's really pretty out there. I like the scenery. Just really excited to see what the course is. I heard it's kind of a long hitter's paradise out here and it'll be pretty fun to play.

Q. Obviously coming off this Curtis Cup appearance, now 18 points in the LEAP standings. Potential to clinch it this week or at least get your 19th. How much are you thinking about that and how much of a motivation is that this week?

KIARA ROMERO: Yeah, it's definitely a bit of a motivator. It's something I've been kind of working towards, and I'm obviously super grateful they created this program for us and it's a great opportunity to go out there and get your LPGA card without having to go to Q-School and stuff.

Yeah, just an opportunity I'm really grateful for.

And it's not something I like to be thinking about when I'm out there playing. I'm more just trying to stay in the present moment and focus on the shot that's right in front of me.

Q. Obviously also had the great finish at the U.S. Women's Open. What do you take away from a week like that? Whether you stay amateur or professional, what do you take away from a week like that?

KIARA ROMERO: I think it really gave me a lot of confidence with my game. It was such a fun week. I had my whole family out there. My sister was also playing in the field, so it kind of gave me a glimpse of what my future could look like.

Me and, y sister have always dreamed of playing on the LPGA together, and so that week kind of just showed us what it could be like, and it was a lot fun.

Q. What was your reaction to getting an invite to compete here this week?

KIARA ROMERO: It's an amazing opportunity. I'm really excited to play. I love competing with the pros and having the opportunity to test my game against them, and so I was super excited when I heard the news.

Q. What's your goal for this week? What would be a successful week in your mind?

KIARA ROMERO: Honestly, like when I think about setting goals and stuff I think about like my attitude and having like a fun time out there and just playing the best that I can and giving it 110 percent effort, and that's really all I can control.

Q. What's a fun time look like for you on the golf course?

KIARA ROMERO: Well, I have my brother out here caddieing for me, so it's always fun. We grew up playing golf ever since we were like six years old, so it's always fun to have him out here. And I'm sure it'll be a good time, yeah.

Q. Hello. I know you said it was motivating to get the final two points to get your Tour card, but has it crossed your mind or has it hit you that after this weekend you could have your card?

KIARA ROMERO: Yeah, it's definitely something that I thought about in the back of my mind. To be honest, like I haven't thought about it much. I know I have to get there first in order to get the Tour card. I have to play well this week, and just focusing on this right now.

Q. I know what kind of led to you golf was your parents telling you guys to all get outside when you were younger. I read you grew up in an internet-free house. How different was that once you started to realize that other people did grow up with the internet a lot?

KIARA ROMERO: Yeah, I'm actually really grateful that our parents raised us that way, because we were forced to hang out with each other. I think it made me and my siblings closer than ever. We are all best friends and we all chose to go to the same school together. The relationships I built with my siblings is probably because of that, because we couldn't go need our rooms and play video games on our own.

Yeah, it also made us super competitive because we chose to go play different sports together and we chose to go out on the golf course and play a match and compete with each another, so it's definitely turned me into the competitor and player I am today.

Q. Do you think you would've found golf without that role growing up?

KIARA ROMERO: Honestly, I don't think so, because we kind of started playing golf just because we were all so bored all the time and we were just energetic kids. We did a bunch of other stuff as well. We would play basketball or baseball or whatever, just a bunch of sports while we were growing up, and we eventually all chose golf.

Q. What or who has been role models or inspiration for you as you developed your golf career?

KIARA ROMERO: I would say my older siblings for sure. Obviously we all played golf growing up together and us just competing with each other, it's kind of the reason I fell in love with the game.

And then also like Nelly Korda, she's a player I always looked up to. Her and her sister Jessica always played on the LPGA together, and so those are the two players me and my sister looked up to.

Q. What aspects of golf do you feel have helped develop your character, your personality, your identity, or what advice would you give to others up and coming in the sport?

KIARA ROMERO: I would say golf teaches you a lot of patience. There is going to be days where you'll go out there and shoot one of the worst rounds ever and the next day it'll be the best day ever. Honestly there is no reasoning behind it. It just happens that way, and that's just the way golf is. It's just a sport that no one can ever perfect.

So I feel like every time I go out there there is a new challenge, and so I would just say growing up like I've always looked at golf as like a fun game and it's never been way too serious for me, and that's the way I like to keep it.

Even with it potentially being like a career for me I never want to take it as something that's really serious. The day that I come out here and it's not fun for me anymore is when I don't want to be playing. So, yeah.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you so much.

KIARA ROMERO: Thank you.
