Quick Quotes

Q. Round of 65. Must be really nice to be back in contention and for a major championship.

SO YEON RYU: For sure. I haven't played really well and then I haven't been in contention for, I don't know, maybe over a year, so I'm really excited to be in this position.

And then, you know, at the same time, I'm a little bit nervous. But all I can do is focus on what I can do. I'm just going to do some like putting work today and then hopefully I can play well tomorrow as well.

Q. And you'll be in the final group. Now only two shots back. Is that significant to be in that last pairing?

SO YEON RYU: I think two shot back is definitely better than three shot back. I'm in a little better position.

But I think today my tee shot was much better than first two days.

And then my iron shot has been pretty great. I'm pretty satisfied with that.

And then I should say I am pretty much satisfied with all of my game right now. Only thing I can improve a little bit is I think the putting as well.

So to winning a tournament you definitely need to reduce the mistakes, so I just want to do some putting work to make sure I'm going to hole a lot of putt tomorrow.

Q. It's kind of nice to hear a player is nervous. Do you acknowledge those feelings?

SO YEON RYU: Yeah. You know, I think every time when I'm think about it I think I'm going to get a good (indiscernible).

And then I actually talked to a lot of players who retire and they say they don't miss anything but being in contention. They said we don't ever feel like that.

So I want to enjoy as much as I can.

And then just being here is really, really wonderful, but if I can hold the trophy it's going to be amazing.

Q. So you had a really solid day today. Tell me the story of your round. Were you putting it close? What were you doing?

SO YEON RYU: Like I said, I think compared to first two days my tee shot has been really, really great today.

And then just throughout the year my tee shot has been a problem, so I feel a bit of relief I can actually hit more fairways.

And then I hope I can continuing to hit a lot of fairways.

And then like I said, again, I'm pretty much satisfied with my iron shot. I'm playing quite aggressive, and I think if I can make many putt as I can, I think I have a good chance to win the tournament.

Q. We hear these greens are just incredibly difficult to read. Can you explain what it's like out there to try and read these greens?

SO YEON RYU: I think because it's still fairly new, I think they built this again 2015.

Q. Okay.

SO YEON RYU: So I feel like every time when I come here the surface is bit of change all the time, so even though I draw the line at my old yardage book, it's sometimes not really helpful.

I feel like I'm just been here many times to know like what it's like, so I really try to feel it instead of try to make it -- try to be perfect.

Q. What are you going to do tonight? Are you going to think about tomorrow, strategize?

SO YEON RYU: You know, these days I really practice not to think about the future or like not to think about like behind.

So I really practice a lot to think about present. Once I started think about the future I just get this tendency that I start to worry too much. So I think that's the last thing I want to do.

I don't know. I probably just going to think about what I'm going to do for dinner and then just what I'm going to watch for the night. So I really want to think about the present.
