Bradenton Country Club

Nelly Korda

Quick Quotes

Q. How was it out there today? Did you enjoy the vibe? Back home.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it was great. It was. Had pretty good crowds from the start but then they got a little bit more dense throughout the day as it got hotter out, too, so it was nice to kind of see everyone out.

Q. Did you see some familiar faces you hadn't seen in a while?

NELLY KORDA: D Lowe was there with his wife. Yeah, I saw them last week, but, no, typically the people that always come out to all my -- friends and family that come out to my events here in Florida.

Q. Did you know he was coming?

NELLY KORDA: I did but I forgot about it. But we talked about it last week at Lake Nona, yeah.

Q. I know yesterday you were talking about the tournament, having the hometown feel of all the crowd with you. How do you feel like having a golf tournament here in Bradenton elevates Bradenton for the golf community?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, I mean, actually it's such a big golf community. I think Florida as a as whole. I mean, there is just so much more to see here. You have beautiful Sarasota, Bradenton, Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island. It's kind of like a hidden gem. Bradenton is actually really, really big. People ask me where I live and that I live 45 minutes away and I'm still in Bradenton. They are always very surprised. There is so much to do here I personally think. I was born in Blake Hospital like five minutes down the road, born and raised here.

I think it just puts more eyes on how great of a community Bradenton is.

Q. Where is your trophy from this?

NELLY KORDA: Where is my trophy?

Q. Yeah.

NELLY KORDA: My trophy room, my office.

Q. Your office?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah.

Q. I didn't know if it had a prominent spot.

NELLY KORDA: It's in my built in. I have like floating shelves for my other ones. I have both my majors on one floating shelf, but the Bradenton event trophy and the Arizona one, they were so heavy that they had to be put into the built in. I think the wall would've gone down.
