Yealimi Noh

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with our third round leader, Yealimi Noh, after a great day here at Bradenton Country Club. I know it was a slow start for you both. How did you sort of build up to those first birdies and stay patient out there? I know bogey-free, so that's a good thing.

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah. Bogey-free and pars are always good.

But yeah, that start was a little slow but I was hitting it solid, making some good putts. I just told myself to be patient and just wait for one to drop and then go on from there, and it did.

Q. You mentioned to Karen seeing that putt on 8 go in finally, you think that opened the flood gates for you a little?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, for sure. And I still two-putted on 8 to make birdie, but I think I just -- I think 9 really helped, seeing that longer-ish putt go in.

And then, yeah, I had the same putt on 9 and 10, so that was nice, to hit the same putt and make it.

Q. I know Jin Young is a good player and she came up with a bunch of birdies too. Were you feeding off each other competition-wise and trying to keep up with her birdies at all?

YEALIMI NOH: I mean, I know she was making a lot of great shots out there and making a lot of good putts, but I was -- at some point I wasn't really focusing on her so much; just mainly myself.

I didn't even realize how many birdies I made until I finished the round today. Yeah, I mean, it's great to have her play so well. Obviously Jin Young, it was my first time playing with her so that was really fun. It was great to see her because she's an amazing player.

Q. It looked like your shots were really good today, your approach shots were great. Just like your shots overall were very on-target. What about your shots today have you been liking, about your swing?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I think my tempo has been awesome this week. It's been the best that it's ever been. I've been really staying patient throughout not only the round, but throughout my swing.

I got to see my coach a lot throughout the offseason so that was really helpful. I did switch irons to Titleist so that's also been really great. My first tournament with them, and I like them.

Q. Yeah.

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, just my tempo has been really good this week, and I hope to keep that going.

Q. And last question from me: I know you've got a one-stroke lead. You and Jin Young Ko have separated yourself from the pack. How comfortable are you feeling? Nervous? How are you going to try and keep yourself together as you head into the final round with a one-stroke lead?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I mean, the last time I was in contention was in Japan last year, so I feel like I'm really riding off that end of the season.

I really want to focus on myself is what I always tell myself. Just keep it like today. Just really, really prioritized my tempo tomorrow. You know, with any kind of nerves and excitement it can get a little quick for me, so just really slow everything down and take it in the present.
