Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Yan Liu after her second round of The Chevron Championship. Just walk us through your day. Albatross, birdie on the last, couple bogeys out there, but finished even to finish at the top of the leaderboard.

YAN LIU: Well, I think today the hole location is pretty tough, so I had really good iron but doesn't close to the hole.

So today was -- well, I stay my patient. I know it's front nine a little up and down. I got albatross 8th hole and I think it's really good. After that hole I feel I very excited so I make a bogey again on 9.

9 I had really, really good driver and really, really good iron but just made a three-putt. I think too excited because I got albatross.

Q. Can you just talk us through the shot? Did you see it go in? What was your reaction? What was your playing competitors' reaction?

YAN LIU: That hole pretty downwind. I take my driver. I hit a really good solid driver. I think the second shot is 175 to the hole, downwind.

I take my 7-iron and I see the ball how to go in so that's really cool thing. But I think doesn't have video for that hole. Little sad.

Q. I know. I wish we did. What was your reaction? Did you jump up and down? Did you look at your caddie and go oh, my gosh?

YAN LIU: I think I jump twice on the fairway. Just very happy and so excited.

Players in group say congrats to me so that's very nice.

Q. What kept you with it? I know you said you were close a couple times throughout today. What helped you stick with it to get that last birdie on the last hole?

YAN LIU: That's so funny. Last hole is my first birdie today. Yeah, I'm glad I made it.

Well, the par-5, that hole I think it's not easy, too. Yeah, today was just a lot of time very close, but just missed a little bit.

Yeah.

Q. Looks like you're heading into the weekend as the leader of this event. Do you feel any pressure? What are your feelings going into the weekend as the leader?

YAN LIU: I think definitely I will feel a little bit, because this -- well, this is major. I know the course going to be harder, harder, so I think just I just stay in the patient, calm. Because I'm very emotional person, yes.
