Quick Quotes

Q. On that note, really solid day, 3-under, 5-under now heading into the weekend. How confident are you in your game right now?

CELINE BOUTIER: I mean, I think I'm playing well. I've been hitting a lot of fairways which was really my goal this week, because I just feel like, you know, you have to be accurate on your approach shots, and you can't really do that from the rough.

So you got to hit some fairways, and I've been able to do that the past few days. My putting has been really solid as well, so I was able to take advantage of that today. I hope I can keep going for the weekend.

Q. What were some of your highlights out there today for yourself? Were there certain shots you were really proud of?

CELINE BOUTIER: Oh, yeah. So I made birdie on 15 and I think I holed out like 45 feet from the left. It was like insane. So I think that was the highlight of my day for sure.

Q. Heading into the last time here in the desert, I know you played here a few times before, how much more special does it make it to make the weekend and you have to a shot at that leap in Poppie's Pond?

CELINE BOUTIER: It's so special. I feel like because it's the last year on this course you definitely want to do well, you want to finish well, have good memories here.

It's a little bit of a bittersweet feeling definitely. Even beginning of the week. We have just been coming here for a long time and such a good tournament and a good environment.

So we just try to stay in the present though, not try to get ahead too much, but definitely want to finish well this year.

Q. This is a ball-striker's golf course and I feel like you're a ball striking kind of player. How has this helped you so far get to where you are on the leaderboard?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, for sure. I mean, the greens are pretty firm, so you just -- in order to be able to hit it close you have to hit it really solid, and then if the wind starts to pick up it can be really tricky to have the right club selection. You just have to be straight from tee to green.

And, yeah, definitely feel like it's a little bit more beneficial if you're a good ball-striker, but also it's the kind of golf that I like, you know.

I feel like you get rewarded for good shots and you don't when you don't hit good shots, so it's a fair course.

Q. What positives will you take with you into the weekend?

CELINE BOUTIER: Definitely feel like I was really able to score pretty well with my game. I played really solid for 17 holes; just had an accident on 2.

But I'm going to try not to focus on that and definitely try to keep going and make as many birdies as I can for the weekend.
