Quick Quotes

Q. Pleased to be joined by Jess Porvasnik after her first round at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro.

Jess, 6-under 66 today. Just briefly talk about your day today. Obviously some good golf out there.

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, hit a lot of greens and made some nice putts. It was nice to see some putts finally go in the hole.

Q. Talk about as you said good ball striking today. Seems to be the common theme for a lot of players who have been going low. How important is it just to make sure you're on your numbers this week?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, it's really important out there to be in the right section of greens and give yourself some really good looks. Because, yeah, there's some good slope out there and the greens are running really nice.

Q. And then a little bit of elevation out there as well comes with it. How much did that play into your practice rounds this week just trying to figure out what holes you need to add and subtract numbers from?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, I think that was key. Last year playing I learned a lot, so going into the rounds this week it was like, okay, I knew what happened last year and my caddie was very helpful in the uphill and downhill.

Q. And then like you mentioned, second year out here now. Do you feel there is a little bit more comfortability playing the course a second time and just the overall life on the LPGA now?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Definitely. Finally figuring out the ropes out here, and it's just nice to go in the second time. You just learn so much from the first year.

Q. Coming off that, very similar to your Epson time as well where the first year was a learning curve; second year I believe you finished No. 1 in the Race for the Card. Can you talk about your experience on Epson and then how much that prepared you for this year?

JESSICA PORVASNIK: Yeah, it prepares you a lot. I thought maybe I would be a little more prepared coming out here just for like what a typical week is like and not trying to work myself too hard.

I think last year I learned a lot in that regard. It's a long week. It's grueling. You have to just take it easy and not maybe practice so much.
