Quick Quotes

Q. Ally, 67 today. Tell me what was different out there maybe than yesterday. Scores were pretty high.

ALLY EWING: Yeah, I was able to roll in a couple of birdies early, just kind of get some momentum in the round. I'm hitting it really well, which for me is just getting back into the gist and the swing of the season. It kind of takes that flow to kind of get back into it. So I feel like my ball-striking is in a really good spot, and just I'm hitting really good putts, which is exciting for me.

Yeah, just a couple more fell today. I hit some really close, and yeah, it's just capitalizing. This is a tough course, and par-3s are a challenge.

You just get around and you do your best.

Q. How have you managed the greens out here? I know poa annua is always a challenge.

ALLY EWING: Yeah, I think for me, it's taken a long time for me to just be okay with it. I think my first few years I had never really been on poa annua as a southern girl. It's just Bermuda and bent. Poa annua gave me a little bit of an oh, my gosh, how do I do this. The execution of a putt doesn't change. You just might have some go in and might have some that don't. It's just kind of accepting that and not letting it change your flow or change your confidence even. So that's kind of how I've approached it.

Q. Heading into tomorrow, going to be chasing most likely, depending on how the wind picks up and the greens get bumpy this afternoon. On a golf course like this, where is your mind at as far as attacking goes? Are you going to go for broke or do you still play it safe?

ALLY EWING: Yeah, for me, my process and my thought all through a hole doesn't really change. If there was a situation that needed me to attack in the last few holes, I might, but my game plan is pretty much the same. The hole is going to give you what it's going to give you, and I just take it for what it is. If I can attack, I will. If not, I will take my best approach, and whatever that yields me.

Q. How much fun was it playing with the southern girls today?

ALLY EWING: Oh, it was great. I love playing with Emma. Obviously a really good friend on Tour. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding, and yeah, it's just a lot of fun. It's a relaxing pairing, and I think we both just enjoyed -- gosh, we flew around the golf course, I think, so we enjoyed our short but really good time together.
