Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Here with Celine Boutier after her third round at the Mizuho Americas Open.

Celine, 6-under round. Just tell me how you managed that today, especially in the difficult, windy conditions.

CELINE BOUTIER: I knew coming in it was going to be a difficult round just because of how strong the wind was. I was able to stay patient. I had a birdie on 2, which kind of got me going.

I really stayed pretty steady. I was able to get a few birdies on the back nine, which helped me out quite a bit. Very satisfied with my round.

Q. Three birdies in a row on 15, 16, 17. How do you feel about that stretch? How did you get that going?

CELINE BOUTIER: I think I made a really good putt on 14 and was able to hit it close on 15 and 16. So I feel like that was very helpful.

They moved the tee up on 16, which was kind of fun even though it was straight up into the wind.

Yeah, it was a nice setup today. I feel like it was challenging with the wind, but the setup made it possible to have some chances if you were hitting good.

Q. Going into tomorrow one stroke out of the lead. How happy are you to be in this position? What sort of thoughts and feelings do you have going into Sunday in the final group?

CELINE BOUTIER: Very happy with where I am at today and going into tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be another challenge. It's supposed to be a bit less windy. I'm assuming the scores are going to be kind of low too. We'll see what happens, but happy to be in this position.

Q. I asked you before, but you said the scores might need to be low tomorrow. Do you see a lot of birdies out here on this course? People seem surprised when they come in with a lot of birdies on their card.

CELINE BOUTIER: I think it's kind of a demanding course if you're not hitting it good. If you're hitting it pretty solid and straight, I feel like you can manage to have a few opportunities, especially take advantage of the par-5s and a few of the par-3s depending on how the course is set up and the pin positions.

I think you have to be patient on the holes where you can't really go for it and go away with a par. Then the holes where you can manage to hit it close where it's a bit shorter, you can take advantage of those.
