Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Piano after the first round of the Buick LPGA Shanghai. 64; bogey-free today. Just how did it feel for you?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Feel great. (Laughter.) It's feel how do you say it's long time ago. Like I don't make like bogey-free and then eight birdie and then lowest score like in my whole year for this year.

I still feel great. Feel good. And then still like unbelievable for me because the green is hard for me, too, but I made it today.

Q. And what was it in your game that stood out to you, that felt really good? Was it your putting? Driver? Irons? I saw you hit 17 out of 18 greens. I don't know if that was a contributing factor.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So for me, today I think -- so for the score I think my putter is work today and then my short game, some hole I hit like close to make chance to make birdie.

This week like I try to trust myself more for my iron. Normally I hit draw but this time I hit a little bit like cut fade. So it's have to think like some shot -- like trust myself like more than. Like normally I aim to the right but this time I aim to the left and just trust myself and then just keep going.

And then it's work. It's feel good. And then I feel like any confident is many coming back.

Q. Is that something you've been working on to change from a draw to a fade?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah.

Q. Why is that?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So when I change to like hit fade, my ball is get more high and then more spin. Sometime I think it's easier to control, yeah. But when I hit draw, sometime the ball is keep roll like too much and then I try to aim more right but my ball still finish like more left.

Okay, no more. You have to aim left and try to cut in. It's work. I like it.

Q. How long have you been trying to switch that?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: After Hawai'i I miss cut and I spend more time to practice like on Friday and then I talk to my dad. He's caddie for me.

Q. Nice.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah, we change the game plan a little bit. That's make me feel good.

Q. And how long has your dad been caddieing four you? Just this week?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: For this year? You mean this year?

Q. All this year?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: No, he start in Portland. Yes, until now.

Q. What's it been like to have him on the bag?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah. I mean, it's fun. Like normally he just check my number, like how far to the bunker how far over the bunker, how far to the pin, and then he said, yeah, I tell you that enough. Like so after this do your decision by yourself.

It's good. Make me feel like I know what I want to play. Like how do you say, like bring any confident come back.

Q. Yeah.

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: It's good.

Q. What does it mean to you, you talked earlier about this being your lowest round of the season. What does that mean to get that here, especially back in Asia playing?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: You mean like...

Q. What does it feel like to have a great round like this for you?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: So the good think for the Asia swing for me, okay, so we have to play like four round so no cut so my nerves are gone for this first round, so you can play like what you want to play.

And then just like how do you say, like it's like a game, how do you say?

Q. Like you're feeling relaxed?

ARPICHAYA YUBOL: Yeah, yes. I feel like relaxed and then, okay being back to the Asian Swing it's feel like back home, close to my house. Like the weather, hot humid, it's perfect weather for me. And then like mostly I'm doing good in China. I don't know why.

But I think China maybe like me.
