Q. Okay, here with Miranda Wang after the first round of the FM Championship. I mean, first thing I think we have to ask you about is the front nine, your back nine. Can you just talk a little bit about that stretch of holes?
MIRANDA WANG: Yeah, today I had par-3 back of my round today; didn't really go for that. Usually what I think I want to do out there is a bogey-free round, but today it's a par-free half of the round, so it's amazing experience.
My putting was doing really well and also I was happy with my iron shots. Ball striking felt good. I was really focused. Didn't really think about the score.
Q. And I think you had seven one-putts when I looked at the score. What was it about those holes? Were you hitting it really close or was it more making some really good putts?
MIRANDA WANG: I was hitting it close. I definitely had two tap-in birdies, but I would say like number -- of course No. 8 and 9, my last two holes definitely putting was really good.
I made 12 feet on No. 8 and 15 feet on No. 9. Yeah, so putting was there.
Q. Anything that switched for you when you made the turn? I think you had a couple bogeys on the front nine, on the back nine. Anything that just kind of flipped?
MIRANDA WANG: I think going into this week because I didn't really have a nice week last week, I was like doing some changes on my swing. Front nine I was really feeling like I need to warm up and get it going, and No. 10 I made a 30 feet putt for birdie, so that really helped me to boost my confidence, oh, here we go, like that.
Q. After looking at last week, what did you re-analyze that you wanted to focus on this week? What were your goals, intentions?
MIRANDA WANG: I would say I was spending time on driver, trying to hit my driver straight. Definitely was definitely going better. At the same time, trying to find my confidence out there on the course.
Q. This is your first time shooting a 29. Is it ever shooting a 29 or just on the LPGA?
MIRANDA WANG: It's my -- if I remember correctly I've had a 29 on Epson Tour before, yeah, but I think that was par 35 so this is my real first time shooting 29.
Q. You mentioned as well this is your rookie season; first time playing this golf course. What do you like about this golf course? What stands out to you about it?
MIRANDA WANG: I really like the feeling of putting greens out there, so like I think that helps me. First day I came here I was feeling great on the green. Green rolls really pure.
And this course is similar to where I grew up, so I grew up in Beijing. It's similar weather in Boston. We have little humid, warm summer and trees, tree-lined golf course. So this is like familiar.
Q. And last question: Just your rookie year. You played well out here. I believe you finished in 10 to 15 on Epson Tour.
MIRANDA WANG: Yes.
Q. So you come out here, had a couple starts, played really well. What have you learned most about being out here on the LPGA?
MIRANDA WANG: I think the most important thing this year for me is knowing that I'm good enough to be playing out here. I think it's challenging for rookies to find confidence and the sense of belonging, and I'm really happy that I've had great friends and my team supporting me and just guiding me through everything and now I'm feeling settled in so that's really good.
