Q. Joining me today after her second round of the FM Championship is Andrea Lee. You played some consistent golf despite having to stop in the middle of your second round. Talk about how you handle that mentally.
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, I mean, I came into today knowing it was going to be a really long day. Obviously still 18 holes left to play. Yeah, I mean, you just got to play the game. Everyone has to deal with it. Just have to really stay patient and just get as much rest as I can.
Yesterday we played -- we got four holes in. It was pretty dark honestly. But, yeah, didn't get too much sleep, but that's all the players in the afternoon wave.
A little bit tired, but just trying to pace myself and get through today and hopefully have a solid round three.
Q. You had a pretty unbelievable year this year; only missed one cut. Can you talk about how you think you've been so consistent and so consistently near the top of leaderboards all season long?
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, I'm really proud of this season so far. Obviously the goal is to win every week, and I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to that goal, which is always a good thing to see. I love being in contention and I look forward to weekends like this where I have a chance to win a tournament.
Yeah, I've had a really consistent season and I'm really proud of that. I think I've made a lot of progress in the last couple years, and it's nice to see that the hard work is paying off. Hopefully one of these tournaments we'll come out on top. I'm just really trying to stay patient and keep playing really solid golf.
Q. How do you describe the competition on Tour? There is constantly new, young players coming from all over the world. What is it like to just continue to compete and fight for that spot and see new talent coming in all the time?
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, the LPGA is really deep. There are so much depth now, so many, like you said, young players from all over the world: Thailand, China; Japan has really seen a lot of growth in the LPGA on their side.
But, yeah, you can just see it from this year. We've had I think -- I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong, 25 different winners on Tour this year, which is insane. The top players -- even Nelly Korda hasn't won this year, which is crazy. She's playing awesome golf and hasn't won.
That just shows how deep the Tour is right now and it's really hard to win out there. But I think every time I can put myself in contention on the weekend is always a bonus, and always just a really good learning experience. So I'm always trying to tap into that winner's circle.
Yeah, just playing really solid golf right now and I'm proud of that. Yeah, there is tons of talent out there and it's great to see the Tour really grow.
Q. Is it like you guys -- I don't know, because I notice just covering a lot of sports that there is a lot of young talent in the LPGA. That's so cool. Also is it hard to stay on top just because you can have so much success young and you guys are growing up on Tour? What's that been like it grow up on Tour while you're doing all this and in the public eye?
ANDREA LEE: I think a lot of us are just so used to it at this point. For me this is my fifth full year on Tour and it's kind of crazy how fast time flies out here.
I feel like I was just a rookie like last year and it's already my fifth, sixth year. Really just trying to enjoy it as much as I can. I love this game. Hopefully I can play competitively for a really long time.
But, yeah, honestly I'm just taking it day by day. I have grown a lot out here on Tour. Feel like I really matured in the last couple years and really have a lot of I think self-confidence and self-belief in myself, especially this year.
Yeah, it's really fun being out here, just playing with all the girls that I grew up with and competing against the best in the world.
