THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the media center at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Joined by Charley Hull. Just to kick things off, how excited are you to be here in Mexico this week?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, really excited this week because Mexican is my favorite food in the whole entire world, and you don't get it in England, so I just can't wait to eat loads.
Q. You posted some fun stories on your Instagram of just the sights and sounds in Mexico. What have you had the chance to do? I know you just got here, though.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I flew in last night at 8:00 because I had to do something at home on Monday. So got in pretty late last night, and I was greeted at the hotel with a singer, Mexican singers and stuff and got taken like a little (indiscernible)to my hotel room, and it was really cool. I had some chips and guac.
Q. I think you're one the few players heading to the U.S. Women's Open after this?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah.
Q. How are you using this week? Obviously this week is it's important in itself, but how are you using it to prepare for next week?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it's a good week to like get in the emotions and stuff. Obviously you want to win the tournament and it's a beautiful place, but it's really good going forward next week. Just feel like you're match fit.
Q. Just a follow-up on that. When you plan out your schedule do you look at where the majors are and where the weeks before that are?
CHARLEY HULL: I'm quite weird. I just look when I can fly out for two weeks and come home for two weeks, because I get homesick. I plan my whole schedule around going out for two and coming back for two.
Q. And having not played before the Chevron, did that have any influence on maybe deciding to play this week?
CHARLEY HULL: Not really. Just didn't fit schedule playing the week before. This one did, so, yeah.
Q. Taking as a reference your mixed event at the upcoming Olympic Games, would you like to see more mixed tournaments between the LPGA and PGA TOUR and for the LPGA to have more (indiscernible.)
THE MODERATOR: Are you asking if she would like to see more LPGA Tour and PGA TOUR mixed events?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, well, we have one at the end of the year, the Grant Thornton, which is really fun event. Obviously we have a lot of players on our tour and a lot of players on their tour so kind of hard to do it all the time.
But fun events like that I think are good for the game and gets a bit more of an atmosphere and almost -- you get fans watching it that probably don't watch the LPGA Tour and vice versa.
Q. I propose you a little game, asking you to complete this sentence.
CHARLEY HULL: Okay.
Q. If it I achieve my goal this week and the U.S. Women's Open, I promise that...
CHARLEY HULL: If I achieve my goal this week and at the U.S. Women's Open, I promise that -- oh, I'll buy my new nephew whatever he wants when he's four years old, because my sister gives birth to him Friday of the U.S. Open.
Yeah, there you go. I'll get him a really nice present. I already well, but still.
Q. We know how the LPGA goes to Asia, Europe, and now Latin America. How important is for women's golf to have tournaments all around the big globe and now going south from the U.S.?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it's really good. I think for growing the game of golf it's really important. Obviously it's massive in Asia now and in America, but it would be nice to play more in Europe and obviously like down in this part of the world as well.
Just grows the game more, and go to places where there is nice yummy food.
Q. Your relationship with some Mexican players, Gaby, Maria, what can you tell us about them?
CHARLEY HULL: Gaby and Maria are two lovely girls. Genuinely lovely people. I like Gaby's mum. She's a lovely lady as well. Maria is really nice. I really like the way she plays golf.
Q. Talking about Mexican food, what is the most that you want to eat? What is your craving?
CHARLEY HULL: Coming from England we have no proper really Mexican like restaurants, so I just think -- like English people just think Mexican food is just like fajitas, and I don't even know if you have fajitas, do you know what I mean?
It's like a made-up thing. I'm like, no, that's not Mexicans food. When I come to the U.S. I always look for a traditional family-run Mexican restaurant because I love the taste of food and it's just so nice. Now, like after my press conference I want to go to a Mexican restaurant and just go and eat some food.
Yeah, I just love it. I think it tastes so yummy.
Q. You're considered like a controversial player. You see yourself like that?
CHARLEY HULL: I don't know really. I'm just myself. I think more people -- I think a lot of people these days aren't their self. Because they're in the public eye they have like a role to play. With me I'm just living my life the way I want to live it. Just true to myself. Just be myself really.
Yeah, that's what I say.
Q. Out of the context of golf, we know you're a Liverpool fan.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah.
Q. We been waiting about your thoughts on the title of the Premier League.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it was really good. So I got my dad tickets to the game. It was the day when they secured it. He said it was a great atmosphere. Yeah, it was great.
Q. What role does your family play in your professional career?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, massive. I'm a massive home person and I think the most important thin in life is family and that's the main goal out of everything.
They're all supportive no matter what I do in life. As long as they love me and support me, I don't care what everyone else thinks.
Q. Is it a true you're a fan of Liverpool?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, my dad is a big Liverpool football fan, and my brother-in-law is a Manchester United fan, so we have a lot of banter in the family, which is brilliant. Like if Liverpool win and ManU loses my dad will ring up my brother-in-law and he won't answer the phone, and vice versa if it's the other way. You won't see them for a few weeks if they play each other.
Q. The golf course, what are your thoughts on the golf course?
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I think it's very tight as there is not much room for error. But it's very scorable if you know what I mean. It's just kind of like fairway then bush. But I think it will be a very good scorable week and a good week to get your confidence up for the U.S. Open. You got to be quite smart with lines off the tee and like clubs and stuff.
Q. How many times have you played in Mexico before, and does this --
CHARLEY HULL: I've only ever played once in Mexico before. That was in 2017 in Mexico City. Only got to see nine holes of the golf course because I've flown in late, so going to play the front nine the golf course blind tomorrow. Hopefully my caddie has got his work cut out and directs me in the correct direction.
Q. Does this course remind you of anywhere else you've played before?
CHARLEY HULL: Like Florida kind of with the grass and everything.
