Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Jenny Bae after her second round now at the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Leader in the clubhouse right now. Just talk about how today went for you.

JENNY BAE: Today I think I had the same mindset as yesterday. Just keep calm and stay focus and try to stay in the present.

I think for me not much has changed aside from a little bit more of a breezy condition. Aside from that I feel really good heading into tomorrow.

Q. How do you get ready for this week? How do you prepare leading into this week with the off week the week before?

JENNY BAE: When I go home I usually try to do the same routine, you know, go see my coach and try to improve on the little things since I don't have that much time to do something drastic.

So just try to get my confidence back up back home and come out here with a positive and clear mind.

Q. You had a couple birdies out there, but made a birdie on the last. What does that do for your momentum heading into the weekend?

JENNY BAE: It definitely helps. It tells me I can still score despite what conditions I'm faced with. I feel pretty good heading into the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to score well tomorrow.

Q. And not sure how many times you've been heading into the weekend top of the leaderboard, but I know you probably have in junior golf, other situations. Just what have you learned about yourself in those more pressure situations?

JENNY BAE: I feel like I handle it fairly well. Definitely there is going to be some stress and pressure added to it, but I think as long as I keep my momentum and just try to stay positive on every shot and every hole I think I'll be okay.

Q. What are some things you think you learned about the course over the past days you feel are clicking now heading into the weekend?

JENNY BAE: I definitely feel like I've gotten a good grasp of the wind. I am starting to understand how I need to play each shot depending on which way the wind is blowing. That's a really big advantage out here, so hopefully I'll be carry that on to the weekend.

Q. We're just at beautiful resort, beautiful area here. How awesome is it to be playing at a place like this? Epson doesn't get the chance to be at so many resorts like this; we are only at a handful of places like this. What's that like?

JENNY BAE: It's amazing. I've never really played on a golf course where it'd such beautiful scenery. I just feel like even if I make a mistake I just look around and I just kind of feel refreshed a little.

So it definitely gives me a good vibe for every hole.

Q. You had some great banter with your caddie there as well. We don't need to shout him out if you don't want to. What is that kind of relationship like and how do you like your caddies to be on the course, especially heading into a weekend, pressure situation type of thing?

JENNY BAE: He definitely keeps me on my toes. He is really nice out there. He keeps me positive and he says, clear your mind, reset every hole, every time I make a mistake. When I do good he gives me crap sometimes, too, but it's obviously good crap.

I feel like I have more fun with him on the bag and it's only a good thing for me.
