THE MODERATOR: We are ready to begin with the South Carolina players, Sania Feagin and Bree Hall.
Q. Slow start yesterday, what do you guys need to do differently in the game against Duke to get off to a better start?
BREE HALL: I think we need to stay more committed to our game plan. That was not our normal and not how we typically play, but like I said we need to execute the game plan and stay disciplined to what Coach is telling us.
SANIA FEAGIN: I agree.
Q. It's been a long time since you guys played Duke and it was a tough match-up. What do you remember about that game and how do you feel like this team has grown since then?
SANIA FEAGIN: I remember they played for forty minutes straight, they go hard. Can't take our foot off the gas and just keep playing.
BREE HALL: I agree.
Q. What are you learning about just what it takes to win no matter what? Coach was saying after the game yesterday that, you know, maybe it was ugly but ultimately the point is to advance at this point.
BREE HALL: I mean, the biggest thing that we probably learned so far is that no team is going to take us lightly. I've said it all year the target is very big on our back, and every team is going to bring their best game. Especially in moments like this in the tournament, they're going to play as hard as they can, try as hard as they can to make every shot they throw up.
Just going into the next game we have to realize that we have to play the entire forty minutes and make sure we are focused on our game plan and prepared before the game.
Q. I'm going to ask a basketball question, when you see MiLaysia coming down the court doing that wrap around the back, is that a "here we go" moment for y'all?
SANIA FEAGIN: For me, yeah, I'm like, "Lay, do your thing!"
BREE HALL: People think she just does it in games, no, these are things she practices. It's like a true skill for her. This is her normal.
Q. Birmingham had a lot of South Carolina fan out there hooting and hollering, loving what y'all are doing. How does it feel to know you have had such an impact on this program that you have this city that doesn't really have any real connection to basketball coming out and supporting you guys specifically?
SANIA FEAGIN: I mean, our fans travel as well, so we had a lot of fans in the stands, just to know that everybody comes out to support us is amazing. We love to see them. We love how loud they get for us.
BREE HALL: Same. I agree.
Q. Going back to the Duke game in December, as a team you shot 57% from the field and 50% from 3, what do y'all see from the Duke defense that allowed you to execute offensively?
SANIA FEAGIN: We just played our game, we stay disciplined, we played hard, we attacked and shot well from the outside. We just stayed disciplined.
Q. I noticed first day in the locker room you guys were goofing around, hiding a little bit, having fun and yesterday right before the game you were watching your potential opponents and you guys were totally locked in, stone cold focused. How do you balance being so focused and having a lot of fun at the same time?
BREE HALL: I think it's just important for us, for a team like us, we are allowed to have fun, but it's only so much fun that we can have before it gets a little ridiculous and Coach reels us back in. I feel like us being able to play around with each other, shows our connection. On and off the court. But I think it's important for us to make sure that we keep it to a certain amount. We're a fun team, we are fun to be around. Our coach -- you guys see in the media, she is fun to be around as well. So I think it's a good balance, and I feel like we're able to turn it on and off.
SANIA FEAGIN: I feel like we understand when to play and when to be serious.
Q. Sania, I'm from Atlanta and I just wanted to understand especially with 404 Day coming up, what has playing basketball in the state of Georgia done to get you to this level to where you compete with USC and the talent that the state produces.
SANIA FEAGIN: Would you repeat the question?
Q. I notice you're from Ellenwood. So with 404 Day coming up, is there anything you would like to say to the State of Georgia or Atlanta and how they have prepared you to compete on this level?
SANIA FEAGIN: I say we go against the top of the top. We go hard, we work hard. No matter what, we grapple, we do what we need to do to get to where we want to be at, and say thank you for the fans that support me, and that's always had my back, no matter what.
THE MODERATOR: Ladies, thank you.
