Q. Throughout this year, you've had some of your former players visit your teams in practices and stuff. What have those moments been like, and what have you seen passed down from your former players to your current players?
KRISTY CURRY: You know, it's a really proud tradition. I always feel like it's truly an honor to be able to play and to represent. We had Marverly Nettles that lives in the D.C. area that played for Coach Moody that came to dinner with us.
Briana Hutchen and her folks and her little girl, Charlie, were here yesterday, as well, with Marverly. Briana played for me and really believed in us our first couple years at Alabama. She's the current recruiting coordinator at Delaware.
And then we have a ton of former players that are sending texts from our previous stops to, currently, the Alabama alumni base.
So really, really special group of people that we take a lot of pride in representing us. It's always good to see them. Each and every opportunity, whether it's home or away, we know they are always there. And when we go on the road, we try to reach out to a lot of those that are in that area.
Q. I think the last time you played Maryland was a few years ago in the bubble. It was your first time in the tournament with Alabama. How much have you seen your program grow since then to reach the point that you are at now, and what's it going to take to take the next step into the Sweet 16?
KRISTY CURRY: Definitely night and day. That obviously was a different experience and not one that we want to have tomorrow night.
But certainly, that group laid the foundation for us to be in this position. Two different teams. Two different situations. We certainly want to, you know, continue to ascend the program and do the things that we are doing, and continue to put ourselves in these positions.
So, really proud of this group for being back to this point.
