Q. Okay, Lydia, really good round for you today. What was the key out there for you for this third round?
LYDIA KO: I think I set up a lot of birdie opportunities. To be honest, I was getting really frustrated middle of my front nine because I had plenty of birdies where I felt like, okay, if I just rocked up and hit it it would've gone in; then I missed couple of those.
I set up another good birdie opportunity on 8 and was able to convert that. When I was out of position on the back nine I was able to stay patient and not make a mess of things.
Yeah, you know, I think today I just gave myself a lot of good looks and a few more fell than the last few days, so that was nice to see.
Q. It's been a slow climb up the leaderboard for you. Now into the top 10. What has been the key to your consistency throughout these three days?
LYDIA KO: I think overall I've been playing pretty consistently, giving myself opportunities, and trying to take advantage of the holes where you have wedges or short clubs in.
I think that's the key around here.
Seems like people are making a lot of birdies. It's not me that is just shooting a low score. You're just trying to do the same and not get too frustrated.
Yesterday I gave myself like nine birdie opportunities on the back nine and converted zero, so it could only go up from there.
Q. Last question: I know you're a sponsor's invite. How has the week been as a sponsor's invite for you, and how great is it to be playing so well off the invite?
LYDIA KO: Yeah, you know, I haven't played as a sponsor's invite on our LPGA events that many times. I played really well last week. Obviously grateful to have an opportunity, because not everybody gets the chance to play in it if you don't make it automatically by yourself.
So, yeah, very grateful to be here. The fans have been great. I said like even if my favorite player was playing I wouldn't come out to watch because it's pretty hot. We're out here because it's our job.
To see everybody out here supporting us and love seeing us out here, it's really cool. I think that six-year wait has been worthwhile. I'm excited to hopefully be back here more often.
