Q. All right, here with Kristen Gillman after the first round of the Maybank Championship. Talk about how it went out there. You posted a good round after the first day.
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Yeah, I feel like I played pretty steady today. I feel like I gave myself a lot of opportunities out there. Unfortunately on 17 I didn't even hit that bad after tee shot but we lost my ball so I had to go back.
Other than that I think I hit every other fairway and 15 greens and gave myself a lot of opportunities for birdies.
Q. First time here. Does this course remind you of any other courses you've played before?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: I don't know, I feel like it's very -- I don't know, I feel like it's a great golf course. I don't know if it really reminds me of anywhere specific. I really how it to sets up and I feel like the grass is really similar to Texas so feels like a little bit like home.
Q. And we were just talking, it's rather of warm here and it's kind of warm in Texas. Do you feel like it's the same-ish?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Yeah, I feel like it's definitely warm here. I think it's a lot warmer here than it is in Texas. I think it definitely helps coming from a hotter climate getting used to this.
Hopefully I can get used to it the next couple days and go back to the colder weather in Texas.
Q. Yeah, I was just going to ask, how does it feel to see a round like this toward the end of the season?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Yeah, I think it's definitely nice. I've been playing pretty well this last month or two with two top 12 finishes in the last month.
So I think I have a lot of confidence coming into this week and kind of sucks that it's kind of toward the end of the season, but it's also nice to be able to finish on a high note.
Q. What do you think is trending in your game?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: I think my misses are just a lot better. I'm just not really putting myself in two much trouble and just giving myself opportunities and not having to play perfect golf.
Q. One round here. Any change in your game plan for tomorrow?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Not really. I think just kind of the same. I feel like out here you can go for most pins, and so just kind of go for as much as I can. If it's smart to play safe I'll do that, but otherwise just go and try to make birdies.
