Q. All right, here with Benedetta Moresco after her first round here at the Maybank Championship. I mean, just a phenomenal round from you; nine birdies. Just what was working so well?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: Everything was working pretty well. I drove it well off the tee and that helped, and my iron shots were also pretty close. Then I holed some good putts, so that was really good.
Q. Yeah. What were some of keys to success out there?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: I think like what I kept telling myself out there was to keep trusting my feelings. I've been working hard and I have to put trust in that.
So I reminded myself on every shot, like trust your feelings, go for it. It paid off.
Q. What does a round like this do for confidence, momentum going into the rest of the week?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: It's great. We strive for this, so I see that golf is going my way now, so I'm really happy.
Hasn't been going the last two weeks on Tour so I've been working hard last week, and this week it's better already. So it's good.
Q. First time here, correct?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: Yeah, first time in Malaysia.
Q. What's been your impressions of the course and the area itself?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: I love Malaysia. I love Kuala Lumpur so much. Like the hospitality, the people. Yellow is my favorite color so like I love it out here. The course is really nice. Great condition. Everything is really nice.
Q. How does it suit your game?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: I think it suits it well because I like to drive it off the tee most of the time. So there is a lot of drivers out there, so I really like that part of it.
Q. So which part of your game was going well?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: My driver and iron shots were going really well, and I was -- it was good that I put it really close to the pin most of the time so I could hole a lot of putts.
And, yeah, that was what was working.
Q. Is this the first time that you're actually doing very well here at this golf course?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: Yes, it's my first time at this golf course, first year, like first full year on Tour so first time making all this Asia Swing, and really happy to be here.
Q. Obviously like you said, you're very young in your career. We've had a ton of young winners. What does that do for your confidence knowing that the younger group can kind of hang out with the Lydias, the Nellys, what have you?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: I think it's great. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I think it gives me confidence for sure. It proves that it's tough out here on tour so we had a lot of the first-year winners so that's great for golf, great for the momentum LPGA is gaining.
So I think it's really, really nice and exciting.
Q. And then being one of the few players to represent Italy, just how much of an honor is that?
BENEDETTA MORESCO: Oh, it's great. I love playing for the Italian flag. It makes me really proud. I hope more Italians will come on Tour in the future. Yeah, I'm really, really happy.
