Q. Lydia, well played today. It was thirsty work out there for sure. Super round of 66. Got to be pretty happy.
LYDIA KO: Yeah, I felt like I stayed really patient and tried to stay cool out there. Obviously playing good golf is important, but I think just keeping your energy levels from hole 1 to 18 is just as important.
I felt like did I that pretty well. So I am excited it just rest up and be energized for the next few days.
Q. You got your dad here this week. I hear he's been out buying some traditional Malaysian clothes.
LYDIA KO: Yeah. I don't know if it was something that he had seen prior to the trip or he saw people wearing it here and was like, I want one of those. He was pretty adamant on wanting the shorts, so he got one in the long sleeve and the short sleeve.
But loved it, and he actually seems to really like KL. He was like, oh, I want to play the golf course instead of you.
So maybe he will do a trip on his own. He really doesn't come out and watch me that much anymore, so it's cool to have him here, and it was awesome having him there when I won in Singapore.
So I think it's going to be a great week with him and my sister.
Q. And also having the fans here, you've had a great round with Angel Yin, always popular with the crowds, and the fans love seeing you play.
LYDIA KO: Yeah, I didn't come here last year but I got a lot of love when I played in '23 despite being a year where I really didn't perform well that whole season. Every time I come back the fans have rooted me on.
That's one of the best things about playing in Asia, and especially this part of the world. They just love seeing us. I know it's like a once-a-year kind of thing so it's as exciting for them as much as us.
I think from our player perspective we just try to put on a good show for them.
Q. I think you're going to be here a while. Looking behind you, there is a lot of people who are Lydia Ko fans wanting something signed.
LYDIA KO: Yeah, no, I'm very grateful. We need to this quick so they can get inside, too.
