Mirabel Ting

Quick Quotes

Q. Mirabel, talk us through your round today. Tough start, but good recovery on the back nine.

MIRABEL TING: Yeah, just, yeah, just some mistakes and here and there just a bad bounce. You know, it's just another day of golf. I would say I wasn't as pissed with my round today.

Actually got a streak on the back nine, which was pretty good. You know, knowing that the game is still there, even though today is not really a round that I was looking for, but at least that couple birdie coming down the stretch was actually -- gave me something like -- makes me understand something that I'm obviously able to do this tomorrow.

So I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and, yeah, get some practice in and see what happens tomorrow.

Q. In position to be...(indiscernible)

MIRABEL TING: Some holes, yes. Definitely the greens are running a little slower, so for the first couple holes I was just leaving a lot of putts short and tried to get used to it on the back nine, which I did for a little bit.

Yeah, just the mistakes that I made were just bad decision making. At the end of the day I learned a lot from today's game.

Q. You had some doubles on 9 and 11. What happened there?

MIRABEL TING: Well, like I said, it wasn't a smart decision. It was a bad decision. You know, I didn't really make a smart choice and knowing to adjust my distance, things were going a bit longer today than yesterday.

Yeah, so just kind of a bad decision that cost everything, and just one by one. So, you know, I'm going to do some reflection once I get back and try to have a clear mind tomorrow morning.

Q. You said that you weren't mad about your round today despite the double bogeys. What does it take to make you mad on the course?

MIRABEL TING: I mean, it could be way worse today. I could have played way worse today, but I did not. I was actually 5-over through 11 and I came back 3-over, so after that two doubles I just completely went blank.

But, you know, I don't think I play -- I don't think I'll play some angry and mad golf anymore. There is no point. I don't find it cool. I don't find it fun at all.

You know, like I always said to myself, I just want to enjoy myself on the golf course and that take away the anger because I just want to enjoy my game out there which I still did today.

Q. You said you weren't making all the right decisions and such. Were you not following your intuition today?

MIRABEL TING: Not exactly. Day by day, like things change. You're not going to feel the same every single day. Once you wake up in the morning you're not going feel like oh, I'm going to hit great today. It doesn't mean that I'll hit it great tomorrow. It doesn't work that way with golf.

Sometimes you just need to deal with it and sometimes you just need to learn how to adapt. Today is not really a good day, but pretty much just try to adapt for tomorrow.

Q. So what's the rest of your day look like today and what's the plan for tomorrow?

MIRABEL TING: Definitely have some lunch, chill with my family. Going to see my coach once I get to the range and see what I can work on and just get an early rest and early dinner.
