Lydia Ko

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here now with Lydia Ko after her second round her at the Maybank Championship. Lydia, just a good solid round for you. A little up and down, but what went into today?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I actually felt like I played better today. It's golf, right? Yesterday I didn't think it was as good but I made a lot of good up and downs.

Today I just hit bad shot that ended up being a double and I hit actually a really good tee shot on 17 that went too far and made a bogey there.

So frustrating finish. Other than that, I felt like I hit it solid. And it's hard because yesterday I just got off to a really hot start, so I was kind of able to take the momentum a little bit. It was a little slower.

In general it was -- I think the last couple days there has been a lot of good stuff, so hopefully take that into the weekend.

Q. Seeing a ton of low scores from everyone. What is it about this course that's so scorable?

LYDIA KO: The course isn't like particularly long and obviously, touch wood, we haven't had that much rain. That obviously makes the course a little bit more drier and your tee shots are going further.

Yeah, I think if it is more wet you have some longer clubs into the green, but in general I think this is a good golf course where hard holes aren't necessarily long. You have to be really strategic off the tee and kind of see how aggressive you want to be.

I think it's actually a very good golf course, so, yeah, people are playing great. All the players here worked hard to be here at the fall Asia Swing, so it's going to be a lot of good golf.

But it's just I think about somebody who gets in a little bit of momentum and holes a lot of putts and just is really steady out there.

Q. Any changes you're thinking about after playing the last two rounds heading into the weekend?

LYDIA KO: Not really. I've kept it really simple this week. Last week was really long. It was my first time playing The Crown and I think you have the adrenaline and don't realize how tiring it is. After seven whole rounds last week, including the practice rounds, I was pretty fatigued coming into this week.

Just been trying to stay cool and keep my energy levels up. I think I'm going to probably play better being fresh than being overtired and fatigued. Yeah, just kind of stay in that mindset. I think there has been a lot of good so hopefully just slowly sharpen things up.
