Q. You and Lu making some history here. Talk about that. Both of you from Montreal.
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: Sure. I think it's a great thing. I think it's a great opportunity for me, Lu, the whole Montreal city. I think it's a great step in the right direction just to be able to go against each other.
You know, Lu's a great friend of mine. I would call him brother right now, but we're enemies. Just going into the Finals, it's a great thing from where we from. The Haitian community, as well. I'm looking forward to play against him and create history.
Q. How important is going to be the bench, the role players? You are more deeper than at the beginning of the playoffs right now? Do you think depth is going to play a role?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: Us or Oklahoma?
Q. You and Oklahoma both.
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: I think it's just about the players that gets on the court. Go out there and produce, just give it all you got. That's the main thing. I think the rest will take care of itself.
We obviously have good benches on both sides.
Q. Given all you've been through to get to this point, what are you reflective of or most proud of to be in this moment today?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: That's a great question.
I'm not really trying to think about how much I deserve to be here because I know I worked really hard. I also have a great team, a great team that we didn't start the season the right way, we finally found ourselves in time for us to be in the Finals, so...
It's been a great thing.
Q. The Thunder players say they will try to stop your pace. What are you concerned about with OKC, what aspects of their game?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: I wouldn't say concerns' I would just say preparation. We just go out there and we have a plan to win the games. Just have to go out there and execute. That's the main thing.
Q. And take care of the ball?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: Sure, sure. They're a great team as well. They have a lot of great players. A great defensive mindset. Just about taking care of the ball, doing the right things, playing Pacers basketball.
Q. What does this mean for Canada basketball, with for of you guys in the Finals?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: I think it means a lot for Canada. All the players from Canada, I think there are more and more every single year. It’s a great thing for Canada basketball for sure.
Q. What’s the most important thing you learned from the Knicks series?
BENNEDICT MATHURIN: I would say the possession of the ball has been big for us. Rebounding. You try to get to the NBA Finals and you play great teams and have to adjust super quick, the next day. Pretty much taking care of the ball and making the right plays.
