Q. To both the left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters, seemed like you went inside a lot. Was there something that you saw maybe yesterday in Snell's game, or maybe did you take anything out of your last start here that made you think that that was the way to go?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: I just communicated with the coach and also Will Smith before the game and we planned the game out of that.

Q. It had been eight years since somebody threw a complete game in the playoffs. Just what did it mean to be able to go nine innings and especially the way your start here in the regular season went?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: I just heard this was the first time in eight years, and I think because that was great for me that I established my rhythm and then I dictated the tempo based off the game. So that was great.

Q. After the home run, the first pitch, just two hits the rest of the way, you didn't seem to let it bother you at all the rest of the night, how did you stay focused and not let that get to you at all?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: That was the first hitter. And I feel regrettable, that home run, but I reset my mind and then I just focused on executing my own pitches.

Q. When Doc was in here, he was saying how he didn't really give you a lot of rope in the playoffs last year, but this year he really trusts you to go deep in games. How meaningful is that that he now trusts you to throw 110 pitches, throw nine innings in a big game like this?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: As a player, I'm really glad because Doc and the people trust me out there. So today because I was able to complete a game, and I think because as a player I thought that was great.

Q. Max Muncy said he thinks that even after this, you have this other level he could see you getting to, that you could even be better somehow. Is he right? Do you feel you're pitching at your best? If not, what more do you want from yourself?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: I felt, because even there was some stuff I need to reflect on, because I'm glad that I could feel growth in myself. So I do have to keep on going.

Q. That lead-off homer seemed to give them momentum and get the crowd going. How nice or important is it that Teoscar Hernández responds with a home run in the top of the second and they give you the lead, and when you come back on the mound in the second, you're now pitching with a lead?

YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO: I was focusing on, because holding the lead after the round of support they gave me, and just like I had to concentrate and focus on my execution, on the pitching.
