Pregame 2 Press Conference

Q. How confident and prepared do you feel to potentially pitch more than one inning in a game this postseason?

JHOAN DURAN: I'd say 100 percent because I'm working for the end of the season, so I'm ready to throw one inning, two inning, whatever.

Q. How badly would you like the opportunity to pitch multiple innings potentially in a playoff game?

JHOAN DURAN: If it's to help the team for winning, every day.

Q. Do you have to do anything differently in preparation knowing you might pitch a second inning versus knowing you're only going to come in for one inning in the ninth?

JHOAN DURAN: I'd say maybe a little bit, mentality. But not physically, it's the same. But mentality, yes, a little bit.

Q. In the event that you would need to come in with runners on base in the middle of an inning, how comfortable are you with that versus when, during the regular season, you're mostly coming in with a clean ninth inning, for the most part?

JHOAN DURAN: I don't know, because sometimes I feel better when I have somebody on base. So I feel more pressure. So that's what I like -- I like to throw like that, with pressure. When I throw with no pressure, I feel too relaxed. It's okay for me if I come in with somebody on base.

Q. What's it been like over the last couple of months getting to know the other guys in the bullpen sitting out there all night together and just how close has that group become over the last two months?

JHOAN DURAN: I'd say right now we be really together. I feel like I have here for years because they feel me, like, be comfortable in the pen. And they're really good guys over there.

Q. What sort of thrill does it give you when you come into the game and the entrance happens and 45,000 people go crazy every night?

JHOAN DURAN: It's amazing. I say that because I see the videos. But in the moment, I don't see anything; I put them, it's like everything white. Yeah, it's unbelievable.

Q. When you were in Minnesota for those last few days and everybody was talking about where guys might go and who might get traded, the Dodgers were obviously looking for relief help. Did that come up in your discussions. Did you think about that, ever hear their name?

JHOAN DURAN: No, I never put any situation in my mentality. I be there and I'm focused on my game and control what I can control. And after the game, go home and enjoy the time with my family. I don't put a trade situation in my mentality. I don't think about anything about that.

Q. What do you think it's done for your approach to use the curveball to mix in with your high-velocity pitches recently?

JHOAN DURAN: That's depending on the situation of the game. Depending who is at home plate, that's the only way I can mix up my pitches. Sometimes I don't need it. Sometimes, yes, I need it. So depends on the situation.
