Quick Quotes

Q. Great finish as well today. Assessment of the week?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: It was a great week. First time I feel like I've really been in a major championship going into a final round. I didn't quite have my best stuff today, but it was solid in the stuff that I've been working on, and more personally and almost emotionally it really worked. I stayed patient, kind of got my reward, and it's just so pleasing to see that I can stay in the fight and you don't know what can happen at the end. I got my reward.

Q. Do you feel like that momentum sort of built with you over the last couple of weeks having family as well out here and friends?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, it has. There's been a lot going on with family and stuff with both sides, my girlfriend's side a lot going on. But with such good families back home and when we do get home it's -- I always say it's not about the golf but it's just I'm Bob back home and I just get to live life the way I want to live life when I go home.

When I come out here, obviously I put in good performances with Thomas at Zurich and then Myrtle Beach, I learned a lot from that, mistakes-wise and felt like I built on that this week. Today was kind of putting that to the test, and I think for the golf side of it and maturity side of it, it's just only going to help me.

Q. Do you take maturity forward as well and the experiences for the next few weeks too, because you're building into another big run?

ROBERT MacINTYRE: Yeah, I just feel like I'm chasing my tail all the time out here because we're not in the big events so you got to play when the you get the chance, and it's difficult to do that when you put the clubs away for a few weeks and not touch them. But I'm on good form, good things are happening within my game and my team around me have been brilliant and just keep moving forward and keep wanting to go forward.

Q. Talk us through the last as well, that last hole.

ROBERT MacINTYRE: I had nothing going. I felt like I was always outside a birdie chance or always kind of chasing my tail. I stood on the 18th tee and Mike said, two good swings and let's just get this thing done. Hit a good tee shot. I was between clubs, and I had been hitting the rescue so far all week and it was perfect and it was a cutty rescue, and it was too much club, but Mike was like, just cut it, just make sure this cuts, because it's too much club. When I hit it, it came off exactly how I pictured it, and then when I seen the crowd kind of standing up I thought that could go in the hole and it was just a nice way to finish with a nice putt.
