MARK BROWN: Two practice rounds Saturday and Sunday and I flew up to Jersey for a qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open. Played Monday.
Q. How did you do?
MARK BROWN: I got in. Was medalist there.
Q. Where was that?
MARK BROWN: Up at Arcola in New Jersey. I shot 2-under early. Got on a plane here. Played nine holes Wednesday. Played good all week. I hit it really good, haven't really scored well. But my driver, I picked up a driver Monday up in Jersey that really has changed everything for me. I'm just aiming and shooting. It's going right where I'm aiming and it's going long. So I took a lot of spin off the driver and it's going good.
Q. What did you go with?
MARK BROWN: It's a Paradym 9 degree. Triple diamond with this little shaft. I don't know what it is.
Q. You put it in Monday before your qualifier?
MARK BROWN: Before the qualifier. I hit it -- a guy on the range said it was carrying 295 to 300. So I was like, the bunker was 290, so I said, well, maybe I can carry it. So I played great up there. Down here I hit it really good. Just, my putter's usually best part of my game, it's just, haven't made a whole lot, kind of defensive putting out here. But if I get that going tomorrow hopefully I can pick up some more spots.
Q. What's your status right now? How many over?
MARK BROWN: 2.
Q. So you're right in there with, I mean plus 1's leading the low club pro.
MARK BROWN: Is it?
Q. Yeah. What kind of goal is that coming into the week?
MARK BROWN: Definitely. Wife needs a new kitchen, so I'm going to try and grind it out tomorrow to get that. Yeah, for sure. I don't know who is up there but I'm looking forward.
Q. Cameron Doan, I think.
MARK BROWN: Oh, it is. Yeah. So I'm playing well enough and giving myself a lot of birdie chances. So it feels great.
Q. How many of these have you played in?
MARK BROWN: I think I played in four of 'em. I got a kitchen in 2019. I tied -- I don't even live there any more.
