Q. With Jason Caron after 2025 the Senior PGA Championship. Finishing 6-under overall. How was your round out there and how was your week?
JASON CARON: Very pleasing, I can say that, especially when it comes to how I played for the entire week. Starting the week I didn't know if anyone would be even under par, and conditions were so tough. The golf course was very difficult I thought.
I guess with the moisture kind of softened it up a bit. Today I just kind of hung in there. Didn't do anything special. I drove the ball very well today, and overall for the whole week.
Didn't hit the irons super close and putting was not my best today, although I did make some nice putts. Very pleased with the way it went this week.
Q. Do you look at boards, and if you did, did you see Harrington had gone to 10? At that point wondering what your thoughts were.
JASON CARON: I kind of caught it on 15 and I made birdie. Then I birdied 16. Then my wife Liz came running up and said, hey, the board is not right. Keep doing what you're supposed to do.
Kind of got an unfortunate break on 17. Drove it right down the middle and everything runs -- so I don't even know how my ball did, but it ran all the way over the edge of fairway where there was a gazillion divots and mine was in the sanded divot, and with that high rough there, just is difficult shot.
I mean, unfortunate, but -- and then had a miraculous bunker shot and made the putt.
Q. How much over the last year from this event last year to now has your comfort level increased, confidence increased, that you kind of belong out here?
JASON CARON: Yeah, for sure the answer is yes on all those. I had no clue after last year going into this event what would happen, and the way things panned out I just kind of been telling myself self-affirmations. Listen, obviously you can hang. If you can, just see how long it can go for.
I think my short game has improved a bunch. This week by far was my best ball striking week for the season. I mean, I can definitely say that it was very, very good. Liz and I, she gave me a couple little tips last week and just click and worked out really well.
Hopefully be good for the team event when Brett and I play together.
Q. On 18 you missed short putt. Just explaining that Harrington was looking at it, saw the same thing. Where do you not see the break on such a short hole?
JASON CARON: Yeah, I mean, we had it --
Q. Short putt, I mean.
JASON CARON: We thought it was more right center. Now that I look at it everything kind of runs maybe this way. (Indicating.) So you probably -- really have to play outside the hole.
Now that I missed it.
But you just try to find the breaks. Try to feel the breaks. That one just didn't happen. I wish I hit the first one a little closer really.
Q. Were you confident all day? Was your confidence this week, was it highest the way you were playing today shall?
JASON CARON: Yeah. It was pretty good. I mean, it was pretty up there.
I just said listen, stay at peace with what is going on with your game and in your mind and let things happen out there. The more I press the worse I play I feel.
So I just hung in there. I mean, this golf course will do it to you. It's a tough golf course. But I drove the ball extremely well so wasn't in the rough a whole bunch coming out of the rough into greens, which is huge.
Some of the pin locations were tough and maybe we played a little too conservative at times. But overall, I'm very pleased, yeah.
