Angel Cabrera

THE MODERATOR: Angel, how does it feel to lift your first Alfred S. Bourne Trophy?

ANGEL CABRERA: I'm extremely happy for winning this tournament. I'm very proud of myself, especially in this golf course, yeah.

Q. Just curious how closely you were following the scoreboard on the back nine and what went through your mind when you saw that Padraig had double-bogeyed 15?

ANGEL CABRERA: When I was on 11 hole I saw that Padraig did a double bogey so I was like, this is my turn, I need to play good so I can win.

Q. Maybe no one in history has won two majors in one week. What does that feel like?

ANGEL CABRERA: Well, I feel very proud of myself, especially because I didn't know that I was the first one to do it.

Like with all of these great players I feel even prouder of myself.

Q. What did you think of this course? Congressional Country Club has a reputation of being a monster, a very tough course. How tough was it out there?

ANGEL CABRERA: It's an incredible golf course, very, very tough. I think that it can be tougher if they make the greens faster or make it longer.

Yeah, I think it's going to being one the course that's going to be one the toughest on the TOUR.

Q. When you had the lead at 17 and then 18, you hit drives and were a little off mark. What was the difficulty on the shot on 17 and then again on 18?

ANGEL CABRERA: So on 17 I went to the left and I was lucky that the ball was standing well so I was able to make a par with two putts.

So, yeah.

On 18 I decided to go with a driver just because the driver is my club. So I went through it and I played smart so I was able to make the bogey. But, yeah, I made it.

Q. What does this mean to you emotionally to come back and win two majors?

ANGEL CABRERA: I feel very emotional. Maybe you cannot see but I'm very, very emotional inside, especially after all the things that I went through. I can't believe that I made it but I'm here and very happy of myself.

Q. About that, you had been away for so long. Now you're competing and playing excellent golf. What do you say about the opportunity to do this again when maybe I didn't think you would?

ANGEL CABRERA: I thought that I was going to fail, especially after being sitting without touching a club for a while. But I've been working very, very hard and I feel that all the hard works pays off and this is what I'm having right now, like winning this tournament.
