THE MODERATOR: Thammanoon Sriroj is with us now at the 2026 Senior PGA Championship. A great opening round for you today. What did you do well out there?
THAMMANOON SRIROJ: Good serves and good putts, so I was able to get easy putts and lines.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. Can you talk a little bit about your best holes? Where were your best holes today, and what happened out there?
THAMMANOON SRIROJ: On the 11th hole and mostly par-3s. Yeah, I was able to get the birdie shots on the long, long putts.
Q. What happened today that made you play this well? Is it mindset? Is it technique?
THAMMANOON SRIROJ: First shot tee shot good. Second shot I think okay. Third shot sometime I'm no good, but today good. Second shot okay. Putt okay, good.
My putts and chips were pretty good normally. It's not too well, especially serves. I'm able to get good shots on my serves today.
Personally my serves aren't really that good, but yeah, today I was able to get those pretty well.
Q. How do you feel being in contention for the rest of the week?
THAMMANOON SRIROJ: At first I was a little bit nervous, but then after, like, a couple of holes I was able to get the fight in myself. That gave me a bit more confidence.
Q. What are your expectations? Are you surprised to be only one shot back from the leader?
THAMMANOON SRIROJ: I just wanted to be able to get into the cut. I didn't expect to make it this far.
